Description

A comprehensive introduction to Budapest awaits on this 2-in-1 guided tour past some of the city’s most impressive sights. Climb into a comfortable amphibious coach for an exciting trip along Budapest's vibrant avenues and into the rippling Danube river.

Starting at Széchenyi István Square, climb on board your land-and-water bus and listen as your guide tells you about the marvellous sights in Budapest. Ride past the columns of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the beautifully symmetrical Hungarian Parliament Building, and the elegant façade of the Hungarian State Opera House. Gaze at the luxury boutiques and vibrant café scene along the UNESCO-listed Andrassy Avenue before reaching the sweeping expanse of Heroes’ Square.

Next, you go from land to river as your converting bus splashes down into the breathtaking Danube River. This river separates the twin cities of Buda and Pest and is lined with some of the most important and beautiful buildings. Enjoy a scenic cruise with panoramic views of hills crowned with townhouses, Buda Castle, and a Habsburg-era citadel—the Citadella. Learn about the city’s past and present as your knowledgeable guide shares intriguing stories with you as you meander down the river, before returning to shore to conclude the tour.

Beautiful sunny day in November started with a trip around the important streets in Pest accompanied by a very pleasant female guide and 2 male drivers. The driving and the information about the area and buildings was excellent together with the rush of water against the windscreen as we joined the Danube. The view from the river was jaw dropping. Such a pleasant worthwhile 90 minutes and a wonderful experience on an amphibious bus. Not at all worrying even for a non swimmer like me
