Description

Your local qualified tour guide will help you to retrace the steps of the Beatles in the Fab 4's home town. Walk from the waterfront through the World Heritage Site to see the new Beatles statues dedicated to the band and visit the Cavern Club. Later, grab the ferry for a 1-hour River Cruise across River Mersey with the option to alight at Woodside Ferry Terminal for a look at life on board a German submarine at the U-Boat Story.

Meet up with your guide at the now-iconic Beatles statues on the waterfront in front of the Mersey Ferry Terminal. , The new Beatles statues were funded by the Cavern Club and since they have been on the waterfront they have totally transformed the footfall at the Pier Head! You will want to take photos and selfies with the statue, and your guide will point out hidden secrets such as the L8 on the bottom of Ringo's shoe and the acorn in John's hand, cast from ones that were picked up outside the Dakota in New York City.

From here your easy level walk continues across the Royal Albert Dock passing the Billy Fury Statue to visit the Maritime Museum. tContinuing through the World Heritage Site to Liverpool Town Hall to see the site of the famous balcony scene from the Beatles' homecoming in 1964, as well as the Eleanor Rigby statue on Stanley Street.

Next, your local guide will take you to visit the famous Cavern Club, the historic nightclub where the Beatles played in their early years. See the Cavern Wall of Fame, which immortalises the band and others who played at the club. There is usually live music and there will be time to buy a driink and souvenirs. In the afternoon, you will use your voucher to take the ferry for a cruise across River Mersey where you can visit the U-Boat Story exhibition.

Although this tour uses Beatles themed locations it is much more than just Beatles and your guide will explain how and why this vibrant city has changed especially since Liverpool was European Capital of Culture in 2008. Its fun and informative and its also a great idea as a shore excursion as the starting point is less than 5-minutes walk from Liverpool Cruise Terminal and you will get breath-taking waterfront views and even be able to take photos of your own ship while you are ashore.
