Blogger Angie Silver, from Silverspoon London, is a big fan, so much so she recommends anyone with a similar enthusiasm for Christmas markets to stay in a hotel that is within easy reach of one. Clad in marble with Biedermeier furnishings and oil paintings, this is a hotel that exudes traditional luxury yet extends a very warm welcome to guests. Its restaurant Charlotte and Fritz is inspired by a stylish Berlin salon and you can expect a casual yet elegant environment and the opportunity to try local food.<\/p>\n

Best of all Regent Berlin is located right on the Gendarmenmarkt Square, which, every year, plays host to WeihnachtsZauber, one of the most popular and atmospheric Christmas markets in the city.<\/p>\n

Four Seasons Gresham Palace, Budapest<\/strong>

Sitting right at the Eastern end of Chain Bridge, the fantastically located Four Seasons Gresham Palace<\/a> offers a luxurious experience right in the heart of Budapest. The art nouveau palace is quite fit for a princess with a beautifully restored interior that includes two million mosaic tiles, a Preciosa chandelier and gorgeous, ornate columns.<\/p>\n

Its restaurant KOLL\u00e2\u02c6\u0161\u00c3…ZS is the perfect place to sample “a collage” of contemporary European food. Its Bar and Lobby Lounge, meanwhile, makes for a great pre- or post-dinner drink spot.<\/p>\n

There are two city centre Christmas markets in Budapest, and Four Seasons is within easy reach of both. Get your fill of goulash at the Christmas Market on Vorosmarty Square, and check out handicrafts and traditional cuisine at the Budapest Basilica Christmas Fair.<\/p>\n
