Since being Capital of Culture in 2008, the city has had a string of redevelopment works that has changed the face of the city. But it<strong>**&#8217;s heart has stayed the same, and Liverpool remains a city that is famed above all for its music, obsessive love of football, and always friendly people. Not only that, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expedia.co.uk\/trains\">Liverpool is easy to reach via train<\/a> from anywhere in the UK.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the second city to be covered in our new video series, &#8216;UK Train Travels with Victoria&#8217;. Head to the Beatles Story, an exhibition dedicated to the band and charting their rise to fame. And to go even deeper, jump on the Magical Mystery Bus, which takes you on a 2-hour tour of the places where the Beatles grew up and lived in Liverpool. It includes stops at Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields, and ends at the Cavern Club where the band played nearly 300 times. The Cavern has live music every day of the week, including plenty of Beatles cover bands. Also, don&#8217;t miss The Beatles statue at Pier Head.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Visit the British Music Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Beatles aren&#8217;t the only music that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expedia.co.uk\/Liverpool-Hotels.d6046241.Travel-Guide-Hotels\">Liverpool<\/a> is famed for. It has a strong musical heritage and has been named as a UNESCO City of Music. Aside from seeing live music while you&#8217;re there, also visit the British Music Experience, an interactive journey through pop music, from the Second World War to the present day. There&#8217;s lots of memorabilia from the UK&#8217;s best acts, plus you can try your hand at lots of different instruments that are there for visitors to play. Hop on the Mersey Ferry for a 50-minute Daily River Explorer Cruise, which takes you on a loop around the river with fabulous views of the waterfront, including the Three Graces and Liverpool Museum. There&#8217;s a voiceover guide to tell you what you&#8217;re looking and you also have the option to jump off at Seacombe to visit a space-themed attraction called Spaceport, or at Woodside to visit U-boat Story, a real World War 2 German submarine exhibition.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Wander around Albert Dock<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Albert Dock is one of the most popular spots in the city, and is a great place to visit on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expedia.co.uk\/Liverpool.d6046241.Holidays-City-Breaks\">holiday to Liverpool<\/a>. It has the largest collection of Grade I listed buildings in the country, and houses some of the city&#8217;s best attractions, including the Beatles Story, the Tate Liverpool and the Maritime Museum. The heart of the area is Hope Street, a road that is bookended by the Liverpool&#8217;s two cathedrals &#8211; one Catholic (Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King) and one Anglican (Liverpool Cathedral). You can go to the top of the Vestey Tower in Liverpool Cathedral for panoramic views of the city. Highlights include: the characterful Leaf cafe; Indian street food restaurant Mowgli; and boutique shop Utility. At the top end of Bold Street you can also see St.Luke&#8217;s Church, more commonly known as the Bombed Out Church, which often holds events. There&#8217;s lively Matthew Street where you&#8217;ll never be far from a Hen Party or Stag; the popular Ropewalks where there&#8217;s music for every taste; or The Baltic Triangle, which has established itself as the hippest spot in the city. Places to try in the Baltic Triangle include Camp and Furnace, a huge multi-use venue that includes bars, food and events. It&#8217;s home to Anthony Gormley&#8217;s sculpture, Another Place, which consists of 100 cast iron figures staring out to sea.
