Nice hotel, fantastic spa. Sadly the staff are overworked but they are very professional and work their butt's off.

We had a great one night stay at Berwick Lodge on a a Monday to celebrate a birthday. The sun shone and the Housemartins flew happily around whilst we sat on the terrace having a cocktail. The à la carte menu was fantastic - well worth the cost and breakfast was very tasty. Will definitely stay again in one of the other fantastic looking rooms.

We had a fabulous stay here. Unfortunately the lack of air-conditionng was a real issue in the heat. The room was clean but needs a refresh, And there was a lack of plugs and USB ports.

Upon arrival the room was relatively clean and straightened out nicely. Decorated to an OK standard. However, the room itself was absolutely sweltering and could've done with a fan or a portable air conditioning unit. I had to open both the windows wide to let some cool air in.....which unfortunately let the screaming and shouting from outside in too. But hey, I've booked something in the heart of student land so that's sort of on me as well! As far as cleanliness goes....look a little closer you'll see things aren't so great and definitely lacks attention to detail in that are. Not the worst but certainly not the best. It looks like shower gel, handwash and shampoo were provided once upon a time but now all that remain are empty containers. This is such a basic thing so either do it or don't. Kitchenette area was reasonably clean with utensils, plates bowls and a dishwasher provided. Overall, it was OK but could do better. It seems like somebody has lost interest in it!

We had a lovely 2 night stay in a Deluxe Room which thankfully had air conditioning and had been renovated to a high standard. Even though there were swimming lessons in the covered pool, there was enough room for my grandson and daughter to have fun. The food, both breakfast and dinner was very good and I must compliment James in the restaurant/bar for his excellent service and professionalism. He is an asset to the Hotel. Will definitely return next year.
