Airport (USM) 8.4/10 Very Good! (809 reviews) As other reviewers have noted about the sunset, it is a great location for that. The facility has everything you expect from a budget resort but it’s clearly past its prime. The sun loungers are all stained and grubby. The pool bar is used to store an empty fridge. The staff are all polite but this is normal for all of Thailand. The rooms are adequate but in my case the shower rail holding the soap and shampoo slipped out of the wall with both plastic bottles smashing on the tiles. On checkout they had the cheek to try and charge me for this. Of course I didn’t pay but it shows the level of care they have for this aging property that they try and blame guests for its failing state. It’s a shame as it has so much potential if some money were put into it by a new owner. Location of Dewa is ideal. 5 minutes from airport. Thalang District has a small town feel. Locals are great. Beach is across the street, restaurants and street market are within a 5 to 10 minute walking distance. So many options, beach side eating, sit down and night bars. The hotel provides complimentary bicycles for local roaming to visit souvenir, convenience stores (7-11 /Tops) and all the massages you desire. We split bookings with family, between this hotel and Nora Bella. Our family wished they would of stayed at our hotel. Rooms are kept well, pool, restaurant and bar are all reasonable. Coffee shop right outside of hotel too, cash only. Coming back!
