(1,923 reviews) I recommend you stay here for the character and charm. If you like cooke cutter corporate america settings then pass on The Lodge on the Desert. My wife and I loved the history of this unique, tranquil oasis. We booked a suite and were very pleased with our stay. The rooms are filled with character and charm. There are not perfect walls or bathrooms. What you do get is clean and very comfortable. Every room is different. The walking paths from parking to all the rooms is laid out so uniquely with cactus and native plants. We were informed by hotel management that John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart and Bing Crosby stayed here before. The history of this place is so interesting. The staff was attentive and friendly throughout our two day stay. We loved Lodge on the Desert.
