We were put in an ADA room which I did not ask for. The room was heavily perfumed to the point it made me nauseous. I later learned that the room had a minor flood and they stuck me in that room. The next morning we were changed to a different room. Big drawback was that the windows did not open. Couldn't hear the ocean which is why I went there and paid premium pricing. I've been going to the Galvez since the early 70's. I always thought it was such a grand hotel. It is still my choice in Galveston, but it really needs some changes like being able to open a window.

They currently do not have a self parking garage, so you have to basically pay for valet parking if you bring your vehicle. I paid for the valet and when I got my car back, they took my gum and left it almost near empty! Plus they left the gum wrapper in my car. Very disrespectful and unprofessional. Watch out and be careful leaving things in the car.
