Booked the accommodation for a middle-aged stag do, so really only used for sleeping and toileting the next morning and consequently did not have many requirements, but those we did have the venue met and seemed to have decent kitchen/lounge facilities as well. Price per person was certainly very good value. Despite what negative reviews said, the venue was near the centre, walkable but also next to major bus routes, and seemed like a safe residential location. Well-designed system in place for making sure you are all ready for checking in, with a lock box on the wall meaning you can access at any time and remote monitoring of the entrance late at night to ensure security. The only area I'd flag is the process around the deposit. While advertised on the listing (and nothing actually taken as far as I can see, just authorised in case), Hotels.com makes it clear no money should be sent separate to their booking system, so was a little uneasy with the process for authorising payments. That being said, the system being used seemed to be run by Expedia, so there was some protection in place. Would be good if there was some way of running this through the Hotels.com booking system, but given nothing untoward happened, nothing to worry about.

We love Ramside and visit regularly. Our rooms in recent stays have become a little dated, and could do with a couple of small repairs or touch ups. That being said, we’ll definitely be back.

Booked a double room for a couple of nights. Somehow also ended up with a set of bunk beds, but bizarre as it was a setup no complaints. Room was spacious, clean and had been recently renovated. The bathroom, while still clean, was one of those little enclosed, almost cabin like rooms where you could use the toilet from the shower while brushing your teeth in the sink. In theory nothing wrong with this, but as someone 6ft tall always emerge with battered electron these. Only other complaint really isn’t the places fault, but I visited during a heatwave and the room was ungodly hot at night. Appreciate that this isn’t a recurring problem in the North East of England, but did affect my stay. Wouldn’t put me off going again though

Great stay - would stay again without a doubt. Ideal location.

Given the pricing of this hotel relative to some others in the area I thought it was good value for money. Location is great though as a result it can be a little noisy from the street overnight. Rooms were comfy and reasonably sized. Breakfast was lovely too. I’d recommend and would stay here again if I were to come back to Newcastle
