We were upgraded to a fancy room apparently which was on the 6th floor. We expected a great view of the city however we were disappointed to find no windows in the room. Very claustrophobic. Nice comfy bed and a decent breakfast. Grossly overpriced at £210 for the night for 2 of us. Far superior hotels in the city centre area at significantly lower prices are available. Won’t visit again. That about covers it.

Really nice! Heated bathroom floors, great shower, all toiletries provided! Afternoon tea was lovely. And dining was lovely!

The hotel itself needs some updating, our room had chipped paint and a faint smell of wet dog, the cleaners definitely did their best it's probably the carpets that need cleaning. The spa facilities were basic, the pool is a leisure centre pool, and it wasn't a relaxing experience we expected sadly, for example you take your shoes off and leave in a pile with everyone elses by the reception area like soft play, the lockers dont lock! The hotels in a good location though and staff are helpful and friendly but I wouldn't stay again.

Had an amazing overnight stay at Mar Hall for my wife’s 50th birthday. All staff couldn’t be nicer and the place was stunning.

Lovely clean rooms with everything we needed. Very close to the castle and train station. WiFi was brilliant . Great for a short stay

Staff were friendly and gave us a good larger than expected room on arrival which was good. The hotwl is positioned in a very peaceful area. We had a room on the ground floor at the back so there was no road noise but lots of noise late at night when other guests were arriving to their rooms. Walls/floors are thin! The water coming out of the taps and toilet was yellow..not sure why. Bottles of yellow tap water were being served to customers. The menu was not to our taste far too much spicy food. I had to send the corn on the cob back as it was covered in spice. We were then brought a new plain one and were not charged which was good. Can't comment on the cooked breakfast as we only had fruit/continental options.

Very comfortable stay. Helpful and courteous staff.
