We had a fantastic stay loved the boat ride to the lodge, rooms were spacious, lovely big bathroom Balcony had a lovely swinging seat overlooking the river Breakfasts were fruit plus fish of your choice and was excellent Trails around the hotel were great to see frogs and birds We did a fantastic magical kayaking trip which is a must We visited national park to see turtles laying eggs, unfortunately she Borykng the hole before laying eggs but we did see the turtle going back to the sea and the hole shed dug, still a memorable experience A highlight were the iguanas lounging around the pool with us and the macaws hanging out in the trees

If you want to be right in the middle of nature and wildlife this is the place to go. Most of the resort is raised up into the treetops so you can be eye level with creatures you'd usually only see way above you from the ground. The included hikes and birdwatching were wonderful with very knowledgeable and passionate guides. We also arranged a day trip to Corcovado by boat through the lodge in advance, seems pricey at first but was well worth it. Over the course of a week we saw sloths (lodge & Corcovado), monkeys (everywhere), tapirs (Corcovado), ant eaters (lodge and Corcovado), coatis (lodge), frogs and lizards (lodge) and so many different birds (everywhere). We chose a forest bungalow room which is just screened in from the outside. I was a bit worried the lack of AC might make it too hot to sleep, but at the end of April the fans in the room were enough to keep us comfortable over night. No need for alarm clocks, the howler monkeys will get you up every day. Overall a fantastic nature focused lodge that combines the ability to relax with adventure.

The Costa Rica Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belén is the place to be if you need to stay in San José for one or two days. First of all, the building itself is stunning, and the surrounding gardens are beautifully maintained. It feels like a peaceful oasis and offers a striking contrast to the rest of San José, while still being conveniently close to the airport. The rooms are slightly noisy, but the staff more than make up for it—they are exceptionally friendly, attentive, and service-oriented. The gym is excellent. We were hoping to play pickleball, but unfortunately there was no net available. The swimming pools are a very welcome addition and add to the relaxed, resort-like atmosphere. For lunch and dinner, the restaurants La Castilla, La Isabela, and Bar 10 are all highly recommended. For breakfast, I would skip the relatively expensive buffet and instead go to Casa del Café, where you can enjoy a delicious à la carte breakfast along with excellent coffee and pastries. In terms of price, it was comparable to an airport hotel, but the experience felt much more like a mini vacation.

Absolutely amazing hotel , very clean and beautiful. It’s so peaceful there . Food was the best I’ve had in Costa Rica - and we’ve tried a lot , but nothing beats the taste and quality of their meals . Stuff goes above and beyond to assist everyone with all needs and requests. I would love to be back there one day and highly recommend it to anyone.
