Do not stay here. When we booked this trip this was a Mercure Hotel. With no notification the hotel changed name and I wish I had acted on reading some reviews online after the change. The hotel is in a terrible location it is surrounded by empty and derelict buildings and does not feel safe especially at night. It is about 20 minutes by public transport to the city centre which is ok during the day but at night the road is not lit and there are quite often lone men hanging around. When we arrived we left our luggage as we were earlier than the 3pm check in and went out for a walk and some food. We returned at 3 to be told our room was not ready. They had problems with housekeeping and had no idea when our room would be ready. We were told we could wait in the bar or on the terrace. The bar was not open and unmanned. We were not offered even a drink of water as an apology. We waited almost an hour before requesting a downgrade to a room that was ready as we had tickets to an event. The room was ok. Very basic, no secure luggage storage and the door couldn’t be double locked from the inside. The only plus side was the bed was comfortable. Both nights it sounded like work was being done somewhere in the hotel. It was very noisy and not restful. Staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. I’ll be surprised if this hotel is still open at the end of the year. Hotels.com should consider removing it from their listing. We paid €320 for both nights and it was not worth that at all.

Beautiful little hotel, perfectly situated to explore the city. Rooms are spotless. Breakfast is a treat and the staff and warm and friendly.

The hotel is good and conveniently located near the train station. The room, common areas, and beds were very clean. However, the room had poor ventilation and there was no air conditioning. The room felt like an oven all the time, and I can't imagine how uncomfortable it would be during extremely hot days. The television did not work, and there was also no hot water in the shower
