South San Diego All inclusive Holidays

Very nice hotel. The room was big and bathroom perfectly nice. The pool is very nice. But it is seasonal. Had a very good time.the live music was a plus!

I stayed there for 4 days after staying 4 days in La Jolla Shores Hotel, and I strongly recommend staying in the Shores Hotel instead (if there is a choice). The food was much better in the hotel (so I ended up going there for food most of the days). But, a much more annoying thing is that the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club is primarily a private club, and unless you are a "member" you will be treated like a second class citizen, and also be reminded of that a few times per day. Unfortunately, they do not make that clear at all while you are renting a room. What this means is, for example, that you'll be kicked out of the swimming pool during certain times of the day because it is "member's time" (even if there are no members in the pool at all). Moreover, there are exactly 4 tables where one can be served breakfast outside next to the ocean, but they are "reserved" all the time (even though noone is there in the early morning). There are many more examples like this. I would say it is fairly impolite to invite someone into your home, and then treat them like this. It is even more impolite not to tell your guests ahead of the time they will be treated like this, and especially given that you charge your guests $500/day for room, and your guests realize this only once they already paid. I tried moving out the 1st day, but I would have lost our entire payment. I will definitely never stay at this place again.

Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. Check-in was smooth, but that was one of the few positive aspects of the experience. There was no clear mention during booking or check-in about the significant noise from the nearby freeway and airport. The noise was very noticeable and made it difficult to have a comfortable and relaxing stay. The parking charge was another major disappointment. I understood the parking fee to be $35, but I was actually charged $70.82. For such a substantial additional charge, the parking fees should be clearly disclosed and explained before guests are charged. The TV remote also did not work, which is a basic amenity that should be checked before a guest arrives. In addition, the room was advertised with cooking facilities, but it did not have all of the basic utensils and necessities needed to actually prepare a meal. Between the excessive noise, unexpected parking charge, non-working TV remote, and poorly equipped kitchen, the overall experience did not meet our expectations. For the price paid, I expected much better attention to basic guest comfort and amenities. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel and would not choose to stay here again.

Rooms are clean and modern but a bit small. Staff are all very friendly and helpful and the upper open top via Capri Dive bar was excellent! Note that they do not serve breakfast at Dive beginning on Sept 1st. Don’t know when they start back up.

The property is conveniently located in central IB. And while other rooms looked like they would be comfortable our room was located across from where the garbage is dumped and the washer and dryer. I messaged the property manager right away and sent photos of the overflowing garbage. I asked to be moved to another room. They said that was not possible. They did say they would give me a 10% refund on my stay. They never honored this. This level of garbage certainly attracts rats. Who wants this right outside their door? I gave them feedback that this particular room should not be rented out as a guest room because of the garbage and noise from the washer and dryer running.
