The room was large and very nice with great amenities. We also really enjoyed going to the private and shaded garden with a glass of wine to relax in peace and quiet.

This hotel is reasonably well situated in lovely Bruges Belgium and on first glance looks to be a well restored older building, however, be aware that the lift is very slow, which they admit. You may also have to negotiate some small flights of stairs, even when using said lift. Upon our arrival, around 7pm, we were asked by the sole employee to wait for checkin while he served some people in the bar. We waited for 10mins. He was personable enough. The room was very nice with a slipper bath and was very comfortable. Breakfast is served in the cellar and was mediocre, so I would advise against a breakfast package and frequent one of the numerable brunch places nearby. On departure, the staff member checking us out was business like. She was efficient enough but lacking any pleasurable personality. Perhaps we got her on a bad day but in conjunction with our arrival experience, I would suggest the hotel invests in better staffing and a little more attention towards paying guests.

Staff were prompt and pleasant to move us to a room with twin beds when requested at check in. We had the sweetest attic room. So cool! I would have preferred a room with a tub/shower combo (as seen in online photos), but it looked as though they may have recently renovated to stand in showers…? I LOVED the fresh water with mint and lemon at the front entrance! Excellent location for accessing the historic centre.
