The hotel grounds were good, breakfast was plentiful even though repetitive day by day. They had nightly entertainment, some good, some not. The on site Flor de Sal was very good, the service there was excellent. My biggest complaint was the unfriendliness of the reception and staff everywhere. No one smiles or greets you when you walk by. I felt there was a general unfriendly vibe from the staff everywhere. They don't seem happy or pretend to be happy for the clients!! My room was fine, pillows were lumpy, I asked for new ones, and they were not any better. The bathroom was the worst: my shower had mold, All it needed was some bleach and cleaning. The washroom faucet was scratched, shower door didn't close. More than once, I told the reception about it, nothing was done. They did offer a new room but it was a huge hassle to move so we declined. The pools were ok, the adult pool was often dirty, we didn't use the outdoor pools much. The gym is nice and well equipped. Overall, it is a good hotel but the staff needs to trained to be nicer and friendlier with smiles! I don't think I would choose this hotel again. We stayed in Lisbon at a PortoBay and the vibe there was better, and hence chose this one,

Nice hotel, well located, quiet and, good value, however breakfast disappointed especially as there were so many positive reviews, but croissants were stodgy, coffee dull and scrambled eggs tasteless. Otherwise good.

Great place to stay in Luz just a little walk to fantastic restaurants and a grocery store Beach is close and only 10 min drive to Lagos. The only thing that could be better is if they provided us with more laundry tabs and some dish soap!

Staff were friendly, helpful / responsive to queries. Facilities were clean. No mini bar in the room. 1 bottle of still water daily. I would expect 1 still and 1 sparkling at a minimum. Cleaning staff opened room door without first knocking and announcing themselves properly, which wasn’t appropriate. One morning they then knocked before 8:30am to clean. Not a good idea when one is on holiday. My booking was for a room with a pool view, I got a room facing the bushes, roadside so I could hear the cars. Breakfast was a good selection but the same variety daily (menu could be a bit more varied). Spa - to use the facilities one had to pay €10 for 3 hours. I would expect for a 5 star and based on prices use of the spa facilities will be included in the price, of course treatments would need to be paid for. Location is not in a central area but not too far away by car from main area near the marina. There is also a free shuttle to take you there. Overall, I was satisfied but there are some small areas that could be tweaked for a 5 star hotel.
