I stayed 2 nights at Hotel Saint Georges. The location was exceptional and it was the perfect base to explore Zurich and surrounding areas. The main station is approximately 15 minutes by foot. The proximity of the hotel to the main train station made it incredibly easy to catch onwards transport and do a day trip to neighbouring Liechenstein.
There are many restaurants and bars nearby the hotel, including a small liquor/wine shop. The hotel is also within 400 metres walking distance of a major no frills/budget supermarket - COOP! The main sightseeing attractions are also approximately 25-30 minutes by foot from the hotel.
I was in a single room, with an ensuite bathroom. While on the smaller side, the room was perfect for a solo traveler. Water pressure was excellent and the hotel offered all the basic amenities one could need - fresh towels, a large in shower soap/shampoo dispenser, ample hand soap, free water in the lobby, and a television with many domestic and a handful of international channels (English).
Staff were very pleasant and accommodating, providing me with a map of the city, tips and suggestions for exploring, chocolate on check-in and little biscuits left in my room each morning.
As I had early train departures each morning, I didn't partake in the the breakfast offered by the hotel, so I am unable to comment on that!
My stay was in August, during the intense heat. The room was a bit hot, no A/C, but there was a fan to keep cool at night!
