We stayed for a little over a week and had a wonderful experience! The location was amazing - close to the train station and walkable to pretty much everywhere. The cleaning staff did an excellent job every day cleaning the room. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming! Breakfast buffet was your typical European breakfast with lots to choose from! They had the best raspberry jam every morning! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
We loved this hotel so much we extended our stay several nights. The service, cleanliness of our suite, helpfulness of front desk staff were exceptional. John (the concierge) can get anything done for you and had great recommendations. The breakfast buffet (included in room charge) was great. Dinner at the hotel's restaurant was 6 stars - up in the stratosphere with the Ritz London and Berlin's Adlon hotels.
Showed up - found easy / free parking immediately, greeted enthusiastically by front desk staff, went to room - nice big bed - terrace - flat screen tv.....nice breakfast in the morning......restaurant staff attentive....a great hotel!

Very nice hotel in a beautiful little Bavarian town. great spot for day trips in the area. Staff is friendly and accommodating, the bar downstairs has a great atmosphere and is a fun place to sample the house beer and Bavarian dishes. The hotel is not overly fancy, but is clean, quiet and comfortable, with modern facilities. Would definitely book again if we return in the future.
My husband and I stayed at the Riversee hotel during our motor tour of Germany. It is a stunning setting above Garmisch. The views from the property are beautiful. We had a king-size superior room that was lake view room. The room was uncomfortable because areas were small and there was a stairway leading up to a loft where the bed was . The restaurants were charming but the service was extremely slow. There was not enough wait staff to handle the number of people that were staying at the resort eating in the restaurants.
Pocket Guide: Upper Bavarian Alps and Lakes Zugspitze Hotels
Majestic mountains--including Germany's highest, the Zugspitze--rule this winter-sports-centric region. Gentle slopes and legendary downhill runs cater to skiers of all skill sets. Take a cable car to Zugspritze's summit for inspiring views, or challenge yourself to climbing activities at the Eibsee-Zugspitze high-wire park. A stroll through the Hollental gorge is both scenic and romantic.
