Very friendly staff on reception/bar and during breakfast. Hotel is close to lots of cafe/restaurants, bars and shops.
We hired a car from Munich Airport, plenty of free street parking just down the road from the Hotel, some spaces at front of Hotel but those are very popular and they have an underground car park for an extra charge.
Room was very nice and cleaned every day, maids were very nice even when we were slow to get moving in the mornings.
Breakfast served from 7am until 10:30am. Buffet breakfast was great with lots of choice and topped up regularly. One of the kitchen staff is the spitting image of an older Manuel from Fawlty Towers (Andrew Sachs).
Swimming pool and spa areas are very clean but it was a shame you had to walk into the corridor to get from one to the other as it was a bit chilly in the corridor. Yellow and white towels provided in your room. Sauna turned on at 4pm each day although some days this wasn't the case and we went without. Beware all you prude Brits (like us) - they sauna and steam in the nude, bit of a shock at first but we just kept our swimming costumes on.
We didn't eat there in the evenings or use the hotel for anything else but everything looked really nice.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is fabulous and I'd be very happy to return there and to return to the same hotel. We ate out every lunch and evening and the food is great if you are a carnivore, they like their meat. Every restaurant we ate in was very friendly with great food.

We stayed for a little over a week and had a wonderful experience! The location was amazing - close to the train station and walkable to pretty much everywhere. The cleaning staff did an excellent job every day cleaning the room. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming! Breakfast buffet was your typical European breakfast with lots to choose from! They had the best raspberry jam every morning! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
We stayed at the hotel four nights, wonderful location with pool, saunas-dry and wet, very good buffet breakfast, terrific access to hiking in the Alps with short and longer distance treks, cable cars, friendly family-owned restaurant two blocks away that gives a real taste of the local culture and cuisine.
Very freindly and welcoming staff and the hotel is within easy walking distance of some good restaurants (Husar, Reindl's), close to the main shopping area and easy driving distance from all the major sights.

Our room had a balcony providing a magnificent view of the Alps. We were within walking distance of the town, however, the hotel provided a free bus pass for each guest with the bus stop conveniently across the street. The room was exceptionally large for a European hotel, included a living room area as well as a spacious bathroom. The restaurant meals were delicious and service was outstanding from dining to the front desk.
Would enjoy staying again.
We were given a huge room on the bottom floor with our own entry. The room was clean, functional, and modern. Breakfast was excellent. Although the room situation was abnormal, this hotel was good value.
The only drawback was some noise from outside as the room was at street level.
The hotel is in the town center within easy walking distance of restaurants, shopping, a beautiful park, etc. Our room was large by European standards. The breakfast was traditional and excellent (McDonalds is across the street for those with a fast food palate). Onsite parking is limited (welcome to Europe), but there's a sizable public lot 1-2 blocks away. I'll stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at the Riversee hotel during our motor tour of Germany. It is a stunning setting above Garmisch. The views from the property are beautiful. We had a king-size superior room that was lake view room. The room was uncomfortable because areas were small and there was a stairway leading up to a loft where the bed was . The restaurants were charming but the service was extremely slow. There was not enough wait staff to handle the number of people that were staying at the resort eating in the restaurants.
Pocket Guide: Upper Bavarian Alps and Lakes Zugspitze Hotels
Majestic mountains--including Germany's highest, the Zugspitze--rule this winter-sports-centric region. Gentle slopes and legendary downhill runs cater to skiers of all skill sets. Take a cable car to Zugspritze's summit for inspiring views, or challenge yourself to climbing activities at the Eibsee-Zugspitze high-wire park. A stroll through the Hollental gorge is both scenic and romantic.
