Very basics hotel , far from the City of Amsterdam

Romm was not this same as was discraibe on the Expedia website , the view from the room was blocked by another office building and we could not seen anything :( we're very dissapoibted with the Expedia company as this show for us is a very cheap company offering very basic room at low cost many . Movenpick Hotel is not located in City of Amsterdam Canals it take you 30mins . to walk to the fames places like district lights , museum ext. I would not recommended Expidia company to any of my friends & family ,as is not worth for money.

Had a very pleasant stay at the movenpick. Staff were very friendly. Rooms very comfortable.

Nice Hotel and Convenient to Train

This hotel met our expectations. There was free parking and the train station to downtown Munich was a short walk across the parking lot. Although the breakfast was on the expensive side, it was very good and convenient. Clean modern rooms and comfortable beds.

Very good hotel, some distance from City centre.

Pros: Very good breakfast buffet.
Location: Good access to the hop-on-hop-off canal boat service and bookable from the hotel.
Room Great , Hotel food Great, some distance from city, availability of shuttle not made clear when booking. We arrived from the airport via rail and made the walk to the hotel with our bags. When we left we booked the shuttle to the station.

Going on a cruise? Stay here!

Location: 10 minute walk to city center
We had to catch a cruise, so we came to Amsterdam a couple of days before. You literally go out of the hotel and turn left and walk 200 feet, and you are at the check-in for cruises. So perfect place for that. The staff at check-in was not that friendly - no hello, etc. It seemed as if we were were doing them a favor by staying at the hotel, but other than that, good hotel.

Poor customer service for a 4-star hotel.

Pros: Excellent beds, view, space, coffee facilities and Silk restaurant.
Cons: Communication to guests. Hygiene: we found hairs underneath the pillow cases, pillows should have pillow protectors.
Location: Close to Amsterdam Centraal and walking distance to city centre.
Things started off good from the night we checked in, but we discovered a fault with the shower head which we reported to the reception staff the next day. They reassured us that maintenance would handle the issue. However that night the fault was not addressed. The next morning, we complained again and asked them to see to the matter and communicate whether it had been fixed or not. Upon returning just before 5pm, we were flabbergasted to discover that our room had not been cleaned. We reported it to reception and asked to speak to a manager. The manager, Lisette, was extremely defensive, unsympathetic and seemed ignorant of both the situation and how to handle it. Our grievances were correctly addressed by a different manager on the day of checkout. Communication to guests was generally poor: although it was eventually fixed, the shower situation was never communicated on; staff or leaflets failed to inform that WIFI login details expired after 24 hrs...

Nice hotel close to city center.

Pros: It is a short walk to the cruise passenger terminal where we embark on our cruise.
Location: Hotel is within walking distance to Central Station (for trains/buses/trams) and major points of interest.
Friendly staff and great services. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Pros: Super Aussicht über den Hafen (Zimmer obere Stockwerke)
Super Aussicht über den Hafen und die Stadt in den oberen Stockwerken. Nahe am Zentrum, WLAN, Internet-Station inkl. Drucker kostenlos in Lobby. Professionelles Rezeptionsteam. Alle Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich.

Excellent emplacement !

Pros: Emplacement, la propreté, facilite d'accès Super pour les croisiéristes !
Cons: Disponibilité des chambres surtout avec le décalage horaire, difficile d'attendre dans le hall.....
Location: A quelques minutes du centre ville !
Tout était parfait Toutefois nous avons attendu jusqu'à 15h pour avoir une chambre et le personnel était très peu conciliant sur cette question.

It's pretty far from town.

It's nothing around the hotel apart from its own restaurant. Staff were not so friendly even though I'm staying at a junior suite room. And the house keeping need to call everyday to clean up my room. They refused to give us still water and said the tap water is drinkable, which I found it weird. They gave it to us eventually but have to put on hold for a long time everytime. There's no belt boy or butler service to send luggage, at least I didn't get any. When we arrived, we had lots of bags but no one came out and help. To be fair, I don't really like this hotel much even though the welcome letter is nice, and the mini bar is completely free and refill everyday. There are some good side of the hotel, the restaurant is nice but quite expensive, the gym is okay, got two running machine, a biking machine, some dumb bells, a sauna room. Not bad. It's about 10 mins walk to train station without luggages. It's about 15 minutes walk to China town for food. And same time to red light district. It's far from Anne frank house and Van Gogh museum. Taxi is about €25 to Van Gogh museum and €15 to Anne frank house for both one way fare.
