The guy who checked us in was lovely. We didn't use the pub or restaurant so couldn't comment on them. Our room, bed and bathroom were very big and comfortable on the ground floor with our own entrance from the street. There was no space in the hotel car park as it is very small with only about 4 spaces. Which was lovely. Would say due to the size of the room and also the bathroom ( with separate shower and claw footed tub !) could almost be classed as an apartment. We are in the red lion on the evening and the food was cooked perfectly. The pub itself is lovely with little nooks, and the garden area is great too. Only thing I would say is the pub did have a chill in the evening and could have benefited from having the fireplaces lite ( which would have also added to the atmosphere) Breakfast in the morning again was done very well very attentive staff. We weren’t told breakfast was accessed via the back door and a member of the public had to explain it to us! When we did get in, we were told the kitchen staff hadn’t arrived, even though breakfast was supposed to have stayed 30 minutes before! When we can to check out (our room was outside the main building) all doors were locked.
