20 - 30 min drive to Yosemite park

Posted 24-Apr-2017
Overall the stay was comfortable. Rooms were spacious, the kitchenette came in handy, and the proximity to Yosemite was great. The restaurants at the hotel were a bit expensive and the food was average, but it was better than nothing. Overall, the rooms are a bit pricey for two people (200 per night), but I still would recommend it to other travelers. The value is overall pretty good because it is the closest hotel to the park other than staying in the park itself. The following is an FYI and not really a criticism of the hotel. There was absolutely 0 cellular network service, which was unfortunate considering Yosemite Valley actually had relatively good coverage. Obviously I can't fault the hotel for that, but just an FYI when planning. It was only an issue for us because we needed to check the weather for the next day so we could plan appropriately.

Good location for Yosemite Valley

Posted 22-Apr-2017
Pros: Riverfront room
Cons: Shouldn't be charging for WiFi in 2017
Just outside Yosemite Park entrance, great river views from some rooms, good onsite restaurant and bar

Disappointed

Posted 20-Apr-2017
Pros: The rooms were large and clean.
Cons: Customer service. Food facilities open longer hours / hours of operation posted on the website. Pool facilities better maintained
Location: Nothing within 40 minutes.
The hotel is the only game in town, especially if the 120 is closed. Given that they charge the same as an equivalent hotel in San Fransisco, one would assume the same professionalize and services. Alas they have Yosemite travels at their whim. Despite the fact that the facility was sold out, the food services closed at 9.00 at night - not posted on their web site. The nearest is a 40 minute drive down to Mariposa. The motel advertises spas throughout the facility and notes closing time at 10.00. We were looking forward to unwinding in one of the spas by the roaring rivers. However, in my opinion in an effort to save money, the only spas that were open were the one next to the inside pool and the one out side the main pool area. No times were posted on the website saying that the remainder 4 if not 5 spas would be closed nor did the office let us know this when we came to pick up towels. Overall one got the feeling that the managers / owners wanted to make as much money as they could with as little care for their clients that they could get away with. My suggestion - go with no expectations or try and book a private home.

Perfect price and perfect location

Reasonable price for a perfect location near yosemite village. Nice amenities and pizza place is nice for a grab. The merced river view in our patio is just an icing on the cake.

Acceptable hotel close to Yosemite entrance

Posted 20-Apr-2017
Pros: Close proximity to Yosemite.
Cons: Update!
Location: Visit Yosemite.
This hotel was somewhat dated but very close to the Yosemite National Park entrance. We stayed in a room that had a view of the Merced river which was pleasant to listen to while going to sleep. The reason I didn't rate this hotel higher was because; The tub shower had two shower valves but only one worked, the other appeared to be a fake fixture. The walls appeared to be lacking sound proofing, our neighbors on the last night had the TV blaring until 2:00 am which made it difficult to sleep. And as previously stated the place was dated and you would think with the amount it costs to stay here the investors owners would reinvest in upgrades. Other than that this hotel stay was okay. We may stay there again some time but not as many nights.

Disapointing.

Posted 17-Apr-2017
Pros: Location.
Cons: Customer service; cleanliness of room heater unit; working fireplace; less expensive or free internet access.
Location: Yosemite.
Booked the hotel months in advance with only one request: please put me on the ground floor. It was important to me because I was traveling with my wife and 7 month old son. When I arrived, we had been given a third floor room. I had to talk to several different members of the hotel staff, and they were finally able to accommodate with a room on the 1st floor. It took time, but at least we wouldn't have to lug all our baby stuff up and down to and from the third floor. The heater in the room was horrible: it was dusty and made all of our noses stuffy when we ran it. The fireplace didn't work. So, I paid for an amenity that we never received. I talked to three different members of the staff and nothing was done. The tub was in disrepair: the shell was damaged. It's a shame, because I've stayed at this hotel in the past, but it really seems as if it's gone downhill.

Best location

Posted 16-Apr-2017
This is the closest hotel to the park entrance (about 30 minutes away). The accomodations are actually better than what the pictures show. We stayed in a standard two-queen. Our family of four was very comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. The kitchenette was well equipped. I strongly recommend buying your supplies from the city as everything in the valley is overpriced including the hotel. There is a small convenience store and gift shop at the lobby. We found very cute gifts for friends at the gift shop. There are two restaurants onsite. We tried the pizza place. It was pretty good. Just because of the proximity to the park entrance, I'd stay at this hotel again.

Great if you get the River view

Posted 16-Apr-2017
Pros: The river. The beds were good. Spacious room.
Cons: Don't be grumpy when telling guests that they won't get a river view. Not friendly. And our t.v didn't work.
Location: A 35 min drive back from Yosemite. So note it is not situated in the Park.
I booked 3 months ago. ReLly looks forward to a river view, after Yosemite visit. But alas, had room facing the highway, only a few short mètres back. Disappointing. Was told by unsmiling staff hat because I booked through Expedia, no RIver given. I think this was just an excuse. From their website, I thought all their rooms had direct river frontage. That is the impression.
