"Charming Remote Hotel"
We really enjoyed our stay at the Tamarack Lodge. The cabins were extremely cozy and comfortable, clean, and the staff was extremely friendly. For those without a car and on a budget, we would advise you plan your meals in advance, as the hotel meals are extremely expensive and taxi's each way into town are $40 roundtrip. Pizza stores also do not deliver. However, if you bring groceries, everything works well.

"Nice Hotel"
We stayed here for one night early February on our way to Yosemite Valley. Really nice place on what seemed to be a quieter way into the park. Found the staff really helpful and friendly. They kept the snow clear so moving around the parking lot was easy. Breakfast was fine and included in the price. Really happy overall and would stay again. The whole place looked like it belonged to another age but that is part of the charm. Couldn't ask for more for this sort of thing - all you need is a bottle of red wine, some good cheese and a book.

"Great location!"
This Best Western Plus hotel is a clean hotel with friendly staff. It's pet friendly and we were given a little "welcome kit" for our dog (nice touch!). There is a restaurant on-site and breakfast is free. It's nice that they have rooms that are located inside as opposed to rooms that just open to the outside. We prefer the inside rooms. It's a great place, inexpensive, has friendly staff, rooms were clean and had fresh towels and we will definitely stay here again.

"Comfortable hotel close to Yosemite"
This was a wonderful hotel! I was worried about there being lots of traffic noise from the road but it was nice and quiet! The room was very clean and the cleaning staff did an amazing job keeping it that way every day. There was an ample breakfast included (typical of hotel breakfasts but more options) and the staff was so kind and helpful! We chose it for its price relative to other hotels and for its close proximity to the Yosemite National Park--it's about an hour for drive in to the first point of interest. We also chose it because they allow dogs (for added fees). This was a comfortable, relaxing place to stay within a short walk of several restaurants, Mariposa's vintage downtown/shops, and a variety of other food options. Their outside pool and hot tub seemed very nice and well-maintained, but it was too cold to enjoy them in the weather. Internet was fast and reliable

"Great hotel for a winter stay."
We stayed in the cabins after a day at Yosemite. Went into the town just after the exit to Bass Lake for dinner before going to the hotel, lots of places to eat. Great location; quiet and you could smell the pines. Walk down to the bar for a game of pool and drinks in the evening. Grocery store and post office at the location. Even though it was February and cold, we walked down to check out the lake. We agreed this would be a great place to visit in warm weather too. We ranged in age from 22 to 56; and we all enjoyed the stay.

"Always a good time in Mammoth"
Had a good time, but 7 feet of snow the week before we got there and the 3-4 feet while we were there made it difficult. All lodges were closed when we arrived due to high winds. Next day, high winds closed Main and Canyon, Eagle had 1 run open. Day after, 2 runs were open at Main, three runs were open at Canyon and 1 at Eagle. Was good enough for me to enjoy the powder. Staff made the hotel comfortable. The fact that the buses ran through the whole snowstorm made things bearable. Mammoth gave me rain checks for lift tickets I had pre-purchased and was unable to use. Obviously we'll be back to use them.

"Nice area"
Great room, but the restaurant really was horrible. Ordered a steak medium and it came to me 30 minutes later cooked rare. I sent it back to be cooked further but it came back again charred on the outside and still pretty rare in the middle. They took 20 percent off my bill but I felt I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone staying at this hotel or town.
