"An excellent value for your dollar!"
This was the absolute best experience we've ever had staying at a Best Western!! The facility was beautiful, the full breakfast excellent, and the waitstaff the best I've ever seen in a Best Western. We most definitely got our money's worth staying here and will be back this Fall with the entire family for an extended stay so that everyone will have the opportunity to explore Yosemite fully!!

"Great option for a short family stay near Yosemite"
Booked last minute and was very plesently surprised. The room was a good size and comfortable for my family of 5. The L shape of the room with the couch and table around the corner made it feel like it was not a cramped hotel room. Nothing overly fancy, but the room and facility were clean and in good repair. Not much happening in Buck Medows, but close enough to Groveland to get to restaurants and grocery of needed. Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. Bummer that there is no wifi, however, this is a result of the location and lack of ISPs that service the area, not the hotel.

"No frills, clean with great location"
I have stayed here quite often as it is very close to Yosemite. The rooms are always clean and the staff are courteous. This particular trip was a bit disappointing as the refrigerator had not been properly cleaned and smelled horrible. Both queen beds were very firm which made sleeping a chore and because they were both the same firmness I could not just switch beds. This is the first negative review I have given them. There is nothing fancy about Cedar Lodge but up until this trip, I have always been satisfied with what I received for the price I was paying. I hope this was the exception and not a new trend as I normally enjoy staying here.

"Great location!"
This Best Western Plus hotel is a clean hotel with friendly staff. It's pet friendly and we were given a little "welcome kit" for our dog (nice touch!). There is a restaurant on-site and breakfast is free. It's nice that they have rooms that are located inside as opposed to rooms that just open to the outside. We prefer the inside rooms. It's a great place, inexpensive, has friendly staff, rooms were clean and had fresh towels and we will definitely stay here again.

Pocket Guide: Child Friendly Hotels in Yosemite National Park

Is Yosemite National Park is a destination for children? There’s no question. With fresh air, wide open spaces, organised kids’ activities and lakes and rivers to swim in, it’s a children’s paradise. Even better, there is a good range of child-friendly hotels in Yosemite, helping parents out with little touches such as cots, extra beds, laundry service, childcare and even kitchen facilities.

Choosing a Child-Friendly Hotel in Yosemite National Park

Child-friendly hotels in Yosemite range from simple two-star inns to well-equipped four-star resorts complete with pools, spas and on-site restaurants. Most Yosemite National Park accommodation can be found in towns to the west, the south and the east of the park, but you’ll have no trouble getting around, even if you don’t have a car – just pick up the local YARTS bus services that run into the park. Most lines terminate at Yosemite Village.

Activities for Children in Yosemite National Park

Kids will love exploring Yosemite. The park has over 800 miles of hiking trails, including shorter hikes that small children can enjoy and mid-length parks that allow older kids to get off the beaten track and explore. Head for the visitor centre in Yosemite Village to pick up more information. Zip lining, rock climbing, horse riding and rafting are all available within the park, so you’re guaranteed activity-packed days that leave the kids worn out and ready for bed!

    Organised Activities and Educational Programmes

There are junior ranger programmes in the park for over-sevens, and small kids can take part in the Little Cub programme. If you’re visiting the park in winter, head to the small Yosemite Ski & Snowboard Area for gentle slopes and good tuition. There are also other winter sports available in the area such as ice-skating and snow tubing, which kids are guaranteed to love. Finally, don’t miss a visit to the Mariposa Grove of ancient giant sequoias. Even grown-ups will feel dwarfed by these magnificent trees.

Yosemite National Park is a child-friendly destination through and through – and luckily the region has hotels to match. Use Expedia’s search filters to find your ideal child-friendly accommodation in Yosemite.
