Parking was tight but cheap. Late checkout and breakfast was great! Our room although clean was very dated and old which made it look dirty and disgusting. Handy location for walking to the centre. Also one of the more reasonably priced places we could find. Noisy pigeons on windowsill outside!

Had all the necessary amenities. However, the room smelt of cigarette’s, and the bathroom smelt of sewage the entire duration of the stay. I dont think the drains were terrific, but it served its purpose. A place to stay close to York centre for a fair price, can’t really argue with the rest of the property. Bedding was clean and fairly comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful all the time.

The staff were helpful & nothing was too much trouble & they are a credit to their management. Breakfast choice was excellent especially with the fresh fruit pieces, nuts & seeds available. Hot breakfast was well cooked & tasty. The hotel was clean, as was our room, but the mattress supplied was a little too hard for my choice. Overall a very convenient & reasonably quiet location - A walk into the city is very doable, if there are no mobility issues & I would have no hesitation in booking this hotel again.

Convenient for a short getaway. Budget option (still think for what it was it was pricey). Staff were lovely and very friendly, cannot fault them at all. Can hear everything from other rooms, could hear someone all night with the worst cough I’ve ever heard. Also the floor above, sounded like they would come crashing through the ceiling. Room was slightly dated but did the trick; bedding, etc was clean! Bathroom was very small and could’ve done with a lick of paint on the door, but did what it needed to do. Walking distance to the city centre and lots of places to eat / shop nearby so good location!

Stayed at IBIS hotel York : Slow draining sink and bathroom, floods the floor when showering. Bath mat only available if requested through reception. Stained bathroom/shower very dirty. Bathroom lock doesn't work with broken handle and broken window handle. Ventilation panel In the room blocked with dust and lint. Very thin walls, can hear everything from the neighbours.

Excellent location for visiting York and all it has to offer Unfortunately neither my partner nor I could get a decent night sleep as we found the single beds were very uncomfortable. Too hard. The check in was very friendly, as was housekeeping, but that was the only interaction we had with any staff member. Missing the cheery "good morning" "good evening" as we left and re-entered the hotel that we have always received at other establishments.

Downstairs is tidy and smart and airy. But the rooms are very dated, tiny and have extremely uncomfortable beds which have a very poor worn mattress 2inch mattress topper. Staff are professional and polite. My room was in a very bad state of repairs with a cracked outer pain window with a hole the size of a 5 pence piece in it and the sash window had a 1inch gap at the top which couldn't close as it was an old break not repaired which let in lots of cold air.

what an awful Ibis. Usually a good hotel chain, but this one!! Guy on check in was miserable and grumpy. No hello or smile just …name? Passed the cards over and that’s it. Hotel very tired. Rooms were smelly and just tired. Didn’t complain as too tired at 11 at night and only staying 1 night anyway. Wouldn’t hear again.

Liked Good hotel and quiet, friendly staff, safe, clean, good bar, sometimes noisy during night but quiets down, location was convident, did not like no food during night such as a vending machine might of have bern useful but was ok because breakfast was good. Really happy with the staff at the hotel. Friendly welcome and staff at breakfast were lovely too. We loved the room when we first went in but it was cold and the remote did not work on the television. Someone did come and try and help us but was unable to fix it. The room is right next to a main road so can be quite noisy.

The Ibis is in a perfect location, just outside the city walls. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and quiet, we couldn’t ask for more!

We enjoyed our stay, staff were excellent and the room was clean and had everything we needed. The only negatives were it is not good soundproofing in the room and we had noisy neighbours, and the beds were just a little hard for our liking.

Staff were super helpful and would provide us with the amenities we needed once we asked. Staff were also friendly and kind. The breakfast was really good; would've appreciated some plant-based options for Muslims/vegans such as vegan sausages, but there was a variety for breakfast options. The room was clean and the bathroom was clean too, no grout. The TV was a smart TV too so we could login to our Netflix and watch some shows. They even helped fix the connectivity issues when we struggled to login once we asked at the reception. I appreciate that someone was always there as a point of contact/assistance at the reception. Great experience overall! And it's near the city centre.
