Central to York

Posted 11-Aug-2017
Pros: Central location clean friendly staff
Cons: No phone I. Room so you have to go down to reception to ask for anything g
Location: Located in Micklegate. Short walk to train station and York Walls which is a lovely walk into the city centre
I have tried to contact this Hotel since I stayed for my birthday with my partner on numerous occasions but have had no reply. The hotel is well situated 5 minute walk from the train station. Staff where lovely and hotel clean. We arrived at approx 1030 am and got straight into our room. Room was clean but only had 1 towel. I requested another towels and was told it would be in the room when we returned which it wasn't and I had to ask another 2 times for another towel and I the end was given one from behind the reception. I also put the Do not disturb sign on the outside of the door as check out was not until midday. Twice we where woken up by housekeeping and the second time someone entered the room until we shouted we where not ready to leave.

Decent basic hotel.

Decent basic hotel. Rooms on small side but adequate. Comfy bed. Good shower. Good value breakfast. Good location for city centre and race course. In need of new carpets and a some brightening up in corridors and landings particularly.

Great to be in the centre of York

Posted 25-Jul-2017
We just booked for an overnight stay on our way back from London to Scotland. We were very pleased that we chose the IBIS hotel. It is centrally located and only a short walk to the centre of York and all of the visitor attractions. The hotel was clean and comfortable - we didn't eat there although the breakfast buffet looked very good! The staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again..

Pros: Everything, very central to York ten minute walk into town the whole place was clean and very tidy.
Cons: The young lady on the bar on Thursday evening date( 20th July 2017) could have been more pleasant and cheerful, everything else was spot on.
Location: Very central to everything in York.
A very nice welcome on arrival pleasantly surprised with room would go again and the breakfast was well worth it the whole stay was first class for money paid

Nice hotel in great location to tour York

Posted 06-Jul-2017
Pros: Location. Great value for money. Clean and very nice staff.
Location: It's York! Walk around and enjoy everything, which you can from this hotel. I especially recommend the train museum.
If you want to tour York but don't want to lose your retirement savings in the process, the Ibis is perfect. It's only a couple of blocks from the train station and the York Wall and then a few more blocks to all the action in old York (the Shambles area). The rooms were clean and nice and they have a pleasant bar and restaurant.

York experience

Posted 29-Jun-2017
Pros: Good location. Clean. Friendly and helpful reception staff.
Cons: Evening meal. Had fish and chips, overcooked and inedible. Very noisy at night from inconsiderate guests
Location: The location was ideal for the city centre and railway station.
Wanted to give an visiting Australian friend a taste of York. Choose hotel for location. Overall not bad. However other guests were noisy at night. Wasn't amused to hear a dog in the room above us , barking catching a ball and scratching on the floor at 11pm!!!

Good location and a fabulous breakfast.

Posted 28-Jun-2017
Pros: Full breakfast and location
Location: Short distance from Railway Station perhaps one mile, bus services are on that road also. Easy access onto Bar Walls.
Easy to get into town, room comfortable. Good price, very clean, very friendly staff and well worth the extra for breakfast.

The walls were thin and you could easily hear the next rooms including their love making loud and clear. Other than that it was clean and the staff were nice. We got what we paid for.
