The hotel is a completely remodeled historical building in and of itself, beautifuly done and completely modern, with two great restaurants. The staff could not have been more helpful with tours and answering questions which any first time visitor to Yangon might have. The elevator servicing the hotel is a piece of industrial art, completely modern but with glass walls and wrought iron decor. The staff, who were wonderfully dressed to fit the 'news paper' theme of the hotel, was outstanding, the massages at the spa were the best I've had anywhere, and the food was excellent (contrary to a review I read elsewhere, that said the food was in small portions and pricey, I found the food to be plentiful and very reasonably priced.)
