Timeless Oceanfront Villa with Pool in North Akumal

"Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at Casa Paraiso Sept 5-11, 2026. We were offered a complimentary upgrade from the condo we booked, as that area of the beach has sargassum. The home was easy to locate; note that it is also known as Casa Tlalocan and that is what is on the entrance sign. We had no issues with the lockbox and gaining entry to the home. The listing clearly state that only the bedrooms have air conditioning, and the main living area heats up when the windows are closed. The kitchen/dining/living room are all one open area with floor to ceiling sliding doors that open up to the sea breeze and waterfront view. The kitchen was fully stocked with the basics, including a coffee maker and filters.Bedroom #1 on the main floor had 2 double beds and the only access to the main floor bathroom. We chose to stay in bedroom #2 which is the first bedroom up the stairs. It had a king bed, ensuite washroom, and amazing ocean views. Bedroom #3 with the 3rd washroom is a self-contained unit with 2 single beds and is accessed by walking across the roof terrace.The back yard is waterfront with a palapa perfect for breakfast or cocktails. Stairs lead down to the water where to a cute sandy area with loungers. The beach is rocky, water shoes with rubber soles are a must! We snorkelled a few times and saw some tropical fish and colourful patches of coral. The water is shallow and we had to wade out a fair bit. The outdoor shower was great to rinse off afterwards. The villa was spotless and offers daily housekeeping by the lovely Dahlia, as well as ground keeping. I was startled a few times to hear someone in the yard while enjoying the pool. Be mindful to draw the curtains when dressing as there can be someone in the yard. For us personally, we would have valued more privacy with less frequent services. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay at Casa Paraiso. We loved the private pool and the fact that It is only a short walk or 1 minute driv"

"The property grounds were gorgeous, the garden and pool were beautiful, the air conditioning was lovely and the beds were very comfortable….the condo had everything we needed and was perfect for our family of five. There wasn’t any seaweed in front of the condo complex and the snorkeling on the bay was fabulous…we saw so many colorful fish, urchins and even an Electric Ray. We walked to La Lunita and the Jungle Cafe several times, which is only a five or ten minute walk, and the food was excellent…get the crunchy shrimp tacos if you go to La Lunita and the French Toast if you go to Jungle Cafe. Yal-Ku was amazing for snorkeling and was a short walk from the condo. This was our first visit to Mexico and Diana, the property manager, was a gem…she even arranged our airport transfer for us. We are definitely planning a trip for next year so we can go swim with the turtles and check out more cenotes."

Reviewer Comments: We originally booked a different property in Akumal, and the rental company contacted me the week before to let me know how bad the seaweed was at the original property, would I like to change to La Sirena 18? After looking at the listing I agreed. This was a life saver!! Driving past our original booking during the week I would roll down the window and smell- HORRIBLE!!!By day 2 my family begged me not to roll the window down. No such smell at La Sirena!Because we came in Sunday night and had changed our lodging, #18 was not cleaned up to their usual standard, and some tools were left lying from some work they were doing. First thing Monday morning we got a visit and the place was cleaned up and fantastic.We used the pool daily. The last day we just sat and unwound from the tourist things and really enjoyed the ocean, pool, etc.Thanks, Akumal Direct, for saving us from the seaweed. It was very thoughtful of you to help us painlessly make the change and our vacation was awesome because of it!"

Despite the worst sargassum season yet, we still enjoyed the lagoon and pool. The villa was also very comfortable and clean and the house staff were excellent. We hired them to cook for us and started missing the wonderful meals they made as soon as we got back home."

"The house was beautiful and very clean! it was also a close drive to Xcaret Park. We were a large group and had both of my grandparents in wheelchairs. The house was perfect for our needs and the host was very accommodating for a late checkout. My family loved our stay here and would definitely come back!"

"Beach was beautiful, the pool was great, the view of the quiet, sea-green bay was spectacular; as were the sunrises. The staff were helpful and kind, the location was an easy 2 minute walk to a close small convenience shop; 5 minutes to a nice restaurant and the beautiful swimming lagoon, for snorkeling, and a nice 20 minute walk into Akumal village (with shops, groceries, beach, swimming with sea turtles, and nice restaurants. The VRBO was roomy and well equipped for my wife and me, our daughter and her husband and their 3 boys, ages 14, 12 and 8. We made dinners for ourselves in the comfortable big kitchen most nights."
