"Extremely disappointing experience, especially as a longtime Expedia/Hotels.com VIP customer. Due to the similarity in the Palladium property names, I mistakenly arrived at the wrong location while traveling for my son’s wedding. I immediately attempted to resolve the issue, but communication and assistance were very poor and stressful throughout the process. Promised VIP amenities such as champagne and hors d’oeuvres were not provided upon arrival and only appeared very late at night after I complained. I ultimately had to spend hundreds of dollars on transportation and another hotel closer to my family and the wedding location. Even at the second property, my bracelet was never properly activated despite multiple requests, leaving me unable to access certain areas without assistance. Additional room issues also occurred. Overall, what should have been a joyful family occasion became emotionally exhausting, financially burdensome, and very frustrating. I sincerely hope improvements are made regarding guest communication, coordination, and service."

"This is a special place and we couldn't have had a better holiday. The gardens are beautiful, the beach is idyllic and such a great spot - and the flat is super-cosy and charming.The area has so much to explore, I would recommend getting a car if you want to have a few adventures - and to buy food in the supermarkets. The lagoon, a few minutes away is a must, as is bringing some snorkeling gear and reef shoes to help explore the creatures in the bay. We enjoyed watching the land-based wildlife as well!Jungle Cafe nearby is very sweet, with good food and smoothies, and the deli near the lagoon sells amazing bread.We are very grateful to Diana for renting us this special place. Fran, who is onsite to help, is such a warm, approachable person. Everyone is nice and chilled :). Enjoy!"

"What a fabulous place! This was our 2nd time in Akumal but our first at La Sirena and we will definitely be back. The grounds are gorgeous, the pool is beautiful, and you simply cannot beat the snorkeling on-site (bring water shoes as it's a rocky entry). Despite the many daytrips we planned, we hardly left the lounge chairs on the sargasso-free (!!) beach (except to grab excellent coffee and breakfast at Jungle Cafe just a short walk down the street). This was truly one of our most relaxing vacations - we can't wait to return."

"This place was perfect for a family vacation, it had a beautiful pool, a private cenote and has access to the lagoon, which was so fun to snorkel in. The older kids spent time in the outdoor gym and there was plenty of space for everyone. Just to mention a few things that would have made the time more comfortable, is the kitchen was not stocked with any spices, or cooking ingredients. You must bring in everything; down to the salt. The home is a bit run down with exposed foundation so bugs do make their way in doors are hard to open, some doors handles were broken. The cleanliness was not what I expected from an Vrbo, grime on the floors, light switches. There are no cleaning items there for the renters to use ( sprays, brooms) so we purchased items to use during the week to clean up after ourselves. The host was very friendly and did come and help us with our needs( the outside grill’s ignition switch was broken, as well as the main burner in the kitchen) and he brought a lighter for us, he replaced the filter water, but many times it was empty and we ended up having to purchase drinking water on our way out. He spoke very little English, we had a few fluent Spanish speakers with us, so that made commutation with him possible. Beautiful home, just had the bare bones amenities, for what we paid for, I was expecting more. "

"Que Onda was an outstanding property and we would love to return. The well maintained and beautiful garden contains a pool that is shared with only one other unit. It is an easy walk to Yalku lagoon as well as the reef on Half Moon Bay, or a short bike ride into Akumal. Bikes and snorkeling gear are available for guest use. The unit itself is simply gorgeous and the pictures don't do it justice. Note that the Master bedroom is on the 3rd (US definition) floor, but the view from the master patio is well worth it. We were up early each morning to listen to the bird song and watch as the sun rose over the jungle, with peekaboo views of the water. The owners live on site and are so kind and responsive and we truly enjoyed getting to visit with them. Their new undertaking, a small bakery with sourdough bread, pastries and other goodies, was such incredible treat. All of our meals were outside in the garden, which was so lovely and peaceful. We spent 10 days driving around the Yucatan peninsula, taking in as much as we could, but it was Que Onda that we will dream of returning to. "

"We loved everything about this lovely house! Having private access to Yal-Ku Lagoon is amazing. And the pool and the large palapa are terrific. We especially loved the local wildlife that walks through the yard- so cool! It’s a short two minute walk to the new bakery at Que Onda (we had hot sourdough every morning)- icing on the cake. Highly recommend renting a golf cart- it made getting around so much fun. "
