"The guy on the reception in the late evening with the hair tied back was great, sadly I didn't catch his name. Very helpful with suggesting where to park the car with a disabled badge. He went out of his way to be helpful. The guy on the bar was also very friendly too. Between the two of them they restored my faith in Germany after a few bad experiences elsewhere earlier in the day. We'll absolutely be staying at the Mercure next time we're in Duisburg."

"We came to Oberhausen for a concert at the Rudolf Weber Arena and this hotel is the perfect location for the arena. All the staff were incredibly friendly and the overall atmosphere was very pleasant. We will definitely be staying here again next year."

"This is a lovely, modern hotel within walking distance of Sterkrade and it's shopping centre & facilities. It has a very clean/fresh feel, the staff are lovely, the beds comfortable and the garden/patio area is fab. Prices are decent, too :-) I came to Oberhausen to visit family so I did not have the need to use the restaurant but again, it looks great. There is a reasonably sized hotel car par but in the week I was there I only managed to get a space once. Free public car park opposite the hotel & free street parking filled the gap. Oberhausen is my home town and I will certainly be visiting again in future. This hotel will be my number one choice."

"the receptionist was sullen when checking in. We booked 2 rooms, one of them had a coffee machine and one of them didn't. When we told the reception about this situation, some rooms have it and some don't. It means they don't have standards, but while they're advertising, the coffee machine appears to be in the room, so they're deceiving."
