I have been staying here off and on for at least 25 years. Now I visit Wytheville twice a year and for 2 days each visit. This visit I was able to get a room with handicap facilities and it was obvious that an attempt had been made to upgrade the bathroom for handicapped persons. However, there is no safety bar at the left hand entrance to the shower, the bathroom and shower floor are nicely tiled but can be slippery when wet and there needs to be some anti slip strips in the shower. Also there are no handholds near the toilet and the toilet is of standard height. There is no obvious place to put safety bars near the toilet so if possible, a taller handicap rated toilet would be safer. As it is, its very difficult to safely get off the toilet if you are handicapped.
These are not meant as complaints, just suggestions about how to improve the handicap facilities.
Thank you.
