The Falkland Arms is a gorgeous little pub in a beautiful location. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had breakfast and dinner here and it was really good. This is a great place to stay for a Cotswolds getaway with lovely walks. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Check in was so easy. The pub is a centuries old building and has all the charm that anyone could expect from such a place. The staff were all excellent, the room very cleverly modern fitted in an old building. Loved everything about the place. Food and drink were all excellent and nothing too much for the staff. Really enjoyed our stay and made our Anniversary very memorable for all the right reasons. Will be back in the cooler months to experience the roaring fire and roast dinners!!

A really charming Oxfordshire pub
The Falkland Arms is a beautiful building in a lovely setting. The village of Great Tew is quiet and charming. The pub has a good mix of local people and visitors. We were delighted with the lovely room, friendly staff and extremely good food. The breakfast was really excellent and although the bar menu is brief, we saw this as a good sign. We ate in the pub on both evenings and had plenty of choice. We would like to mention the landlord/manager who is friendly but also clearly gives a lot of leadership to the staff team. Really good to see a pub run with professionalism and warmth.

Such a wonderful property, great service, and food. The place is from the 1600s, so expect creaky floors and low doors, but it all adds to the amazing charm and perfect setting.

Our room was nice enough but the window would not close as the latch was rusty and broke. The room therefore was freezing and the hotel said they were full so couldn’t help us. No offer of a refund, or of any solution at all. They should not be offering out a room when it is not in appropriate condition. The staff did not seem bothered at all and very unhelpful.

Cotswold Blenheim break
We stayed at the Falkland Arms to enable us to explore the Cotswolds and visit Blenheim Palace. We had an amazing time. Were well looked after by the staff. Accommodation very cotswold chic, comfortable and clean. Food excellent. Competitively priced given this unique hostelry and its setting.

Lovely location and beautiful old property. Because of the age of the property there is no air conditioning which can mean the bedroom can get quite warm, plenty of windows to throw open if it does. The breakfast choice was good and it was delicious, we didn’t get to eat in any other time but judging by the number of customers it was probably as good. Very convenient for events at Soho Farmhouse, without having to pay their inflated prices! Recommended

Lovely Weekend Stay
Lovely pub, added bonus as a coeliac a gluten free menu if offered and the business is verified by coeliac society. Cold/tepid shower was disappointing. Breakfast was lovely although considering the extensive gluten free is offered in the pub it would be great if gluten free sausages could be as standard at breakfast so that everyone can enjoy the fab full english! Overall a lovely stay however for the price would expect a hot shower and working wifi.

This is a charming property located in an idyllic Costwold village. It is immaculately clean and the bed, though only 4 foot 6 wide, was very comfortable. We were more than a little surprised that rooms 1 to 5 are accessed via a steep and narrow spiral staircase and that room 6, where we stayed is accessed via an even steeper and narrower, Harry Potter style one. Lots of low beams and low doorways throughout so anyone over 5 foot 8 will need to beware. Breakfast was excellent. Fresh coffee, good quality croissants, butter and preserves and a full English was well done. Covid precautions were observed throughout.

Great location, great food. Really nice rooms and I will definitely be back. The only let down was the extremely cheap toilet paper!! Come on guys it’s not cheap to stay you could invest an extra £1 when you go to Tesco.

The Falkland Arms is authentic and charming with low ceilings and beams, and you can feel the history in the walls. The room we had wasn't one of the smallest, but was large enough and had all the amenities we would expect. The staff were all very friendly too.

Step back in time.
Stayed here in October. Absolutely charm8ng hamlet with very picturesque cottages. The falkland Arms is very atmospheric with roaring log fire, beams and creaky floor boards. Our room was compact with a very small bathroom but perfectly adequate with everything we needed. It is owned bt a brewery and there were a few teething problems with housekeeping maybe as the couple who were running it had only been there six weeks. We were made to feel welcome when we arrived. Breakfast each morning was good with a decent variety although again quite haphazard with service. We would stay here again and recommend it to others. I would suggest that a car is essential as there are no facilities in the hamlet. There us a very small shop but we did not use it as we stayed midweek and it only opens at weekends. A very peaceful retreat.

We have stayed in the Falkland Arms a number of times over the past 20 or so years and it never disappoints. It's our favourite getaway. Since we came 4 years ago there has been another refurbishment and the rooms are absolutely lovely. The staff are always helpful and with good food and drink and fabulous walking on your doorstep what more could you ask for. We'll be back.

Quirky and charming
A very attractive pub/hotel in a beautiful village. The hotel is old and full of charm with very creaky floors! The room was attractive, clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The food in the evening was average. A limited menu with one item not available. I opted instead for a small portion of fish and chips and the fish was very similar to a Findus frozen battered fish being a neat triangular shape with smooth batter. The waitress claimed it was home-made so I may have been wrong, but definitely not worth £8.95. Very good breakfast and the service was ok.

Could have been better
Room was lovely. Not the menu as advertised online. Man behind the bar very friendly but a bit surprised when we had our meal brought to us outside and was told by the waitress that we needed to go inside and get our own cutlery; not exactly customer friendly. Seems like a small thing but the be honest the food was below par. Nice evening though and lovely village.

Lovely but tiny.
Very atmospheric. Clean and good service. Breakfasts were outstanding, but the room we were allocated was so tiny We had to put the stool in the wardrobe in order to make space for our suitcases. The bathroom was beautiful and clean, but so tiny you could not bend down to dry your legs. Overall I still rate the hotel as good, but would want a larger room if I visited again.
