Nice hotel close to West Midlands Safari Park
Great hotel for the price! For a family visit to West Midlands Safari Park! Only thing that let it down was the room was a bit dusty and the exterior of the hotel needs a bit of maintenance. The WhatsApp bar service was great! Staff very helpful and friendly.

Not a 4 star hotel.
Poor room conditions, very damp in need of some urgent decor. Bar and restaurant both closed, overpriced drinks and food served in a cold and dull surrounding, all done by 1 staff member.

Due to the current business demands and various procedure put in place we feel we have the right amount of team members and I apologise that you saw the service not to your liking. Overall the hotel are doing very well to keep people safe. Easy checkin/out and although there are no public food and drink, other than the outside patio, they provide everything for your room. Even cutlery, plates etc should you have food delivered in.

We enjoyed ourselves. Perhaps suffering from Covid restrictions. No ‘drinks machine’; but there was a kettle. Lovely hot bath. Needs refurbishment.

Great location for the Safari park which is why we chose it . Great value for money and good Covid 19 precautions. We had room service and the pizzas were excellent ! The room overall could do with an update when possible but we enjoyed our stay

Check in fine. One way system in place but disappointed to see that people ignore it and staff didn't say anything. Room very pleasant, clean and comfortable. Things I was less impressed with; it said on all the info I was sent and in the room that breakfast box could be ordered over the phone and delivered - it transpired that one had to go to reception to order it and to pick it up. At checkin we were told that rooms would not be serviced due to Covid 19 precautions but fresh supplies of soap, tea, coffee would be left outside our room - it wasn't and we ran out of some things. Meals could be ordered from room service - we rang and rang and rang but nobody ever answered. In the end, went down and ordered from reception; under the circumstances, the meals provided were extremely good but I thought expensive. Overall, bearing in mind the current situation, it was an enjoyable and pleasant stay.

Weird times and all that... Hotel is handy and plenty of parking. Have no idea why the bar and restaurant are closed when every other bar and restaurant is open. It was 30 degrees outside and I asked for ice to keep water cool, would have been easier to borrow the crown jewels for the week! A little foresight would go a long way

Oh dear this Hotel made fawlty Towers look llike the Ritz. Arrived at 4pm ciuld not get into room as not cleaned. Got in 5.45pm but room untidy after cleaning - only two staff on. 1cleaner 1 recepionist.- really really disappointing and need full apolgy not just a bottle of wine!!

Great location next to the Safari Park. Room service was excellent. Had a minor issue with payment but was resolved quickly and professionally. Overall great value for money!

Perfectly good hotel
Stayed here as a family of 4 for a trip to West Midlands Safari Park. Perfectly good hotel for the price we paid - check-in was quick and easy, room was large and was clean and tidy, staff we spoke to were all pleasant.

Hi stayed here a few Times there is a distinct lack of communication between staff although they are friendly but very poor customer service . Requested high room reserved months in advance for Birthday celebration and had a poor view room so had to change , lights not working bedside in second room or TV so had to have TV control fix .Lady on front desk ( Young blonde hair ) condescending paid for reservation in advance and nil payment on checkout then says that’s find on checkout nil payment then 5 mins later chases us into car lark must unprofessional says we owe £96 so went back to reception still not sorted said it’s maybe Expedia payment error on system , don’t worry Manager will call you to override , nothing materialised , in desperate need of decorating etc which is Shame as much potential . Breakfast prepaid buffet 3 data of which two were not buffet very abrupt middle aged lady of larger build with blonde hair took order at table and served us small portions and said when we had one sausage one egg one bacon etc which should have asked for two but there are different chefs each day , Get a life please you wouldn’t have a job without our business , stayed a few times definitely downhill now and unlikely to return !!!!

Nice enough hotel with character but showing its age. Breakfast is good and staff friendly but restaurant in the evening is not so great. Health club next door is equally tired and past its best.

Hotel was very quiet after Christmas with few guests but car park was full with clients of the nearby gym. Restaurant was empty with a very restricted and expensive menu ((£33 for 2 bowls of fried rice with chicken and prawns) and drinks expensive. Hotel is looking very tired and is not handy for the M6. Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. wouldn't use again.

Noisy just like staying in a pub!
There was a Christmas do going on all evening with thumping loud music. Unable to sleep until midnight and had to be up early next morning. We should have been given a room away from the party as we were not involved.

Disappointing breakfast
Breakfast was absolutely rubbish. £11 for a one item breakfast!! The server was rude and lacked everything regarding customer service! I was waiting at the desk to be seated and after 5 minutes of waiting I had to prompt her. I thought the breakfast was buffet but that was the continental, I had to ask serval times is there a cooked breakfast after looking at other people plates to my delight she presented me with a menu. Nothing at all was explained. The restaurant / bar was ok on the evening. The bar staff like to have banter with or was with regulars. The room and hotel was very comfortable

In terms of plated breakfast we offer this when we have a limited number of guest for breakfast as this would enhance the customer experience.Had you stipulated you would like a certain number of an item my staff would have been more than happy to adhere to your request. i am happy to read that your room was comfortable.

Staf were very helpful, polite and accommodated our requests with options to consider and choose from particularly relating to change of room due to a function taking place. We had a loverly room N2 full of charm and traditional features. Ate in the restaurant which was lovely.

Hotel is tired, worn-out furniture unclean looking carpets, decor stuck in the 80's. We had to ask for the bedding to be changed as it was stained and hairs in the bed. The drawers were and most probably still are? full of previous guests unwanted stuff. One of the drawers had an October student catalogue other German flags?. The tea tray was dirty, shower curtain smelly and badly stained. there are better places to stay in the area. Would not recommend or stay here again.

I paid more than I normally would for a hotel stay as we were on our honeymoon. The wallpaper was peeling off our room walls. It was not value fir money or at the level I expected.
