"I was nervous to stay here, given previous poor reviews but actually I think they were far too harsh. This is an old, period property with wooden beamed ceilings and wonky walls! So it’s not modern and would benefit from new carpets etc. But it’s clean and quiet and perfectly adequate for the price. I would stay again if in the area. "
"My only observations would that there was a lot of furniture in the room which seemed unnecessary and made it rather cramped. Also, there were no sachets of instant coffee which would have been my preference."
"We spent a lovely few days at Lychgate Cottage. We did find it a bit difficult to locate the property once in the village and didn’t have a telephone number to contact the owners or Vrbo. The cottage was very cosy and equipped with everything we could want and more. We were supplied with lots of essentials on arrival (ie tea, coffee, bread , milk etc) and more. Anthony and Marilyn welcomed us on arrival and Marilyn showed us around the cottage. Henfield is a small village only about 5 minutes walk from the cottage and has 2 supermarkets a pharmacy and several other small shops and 4 pubs. We were extremely happy with the cottage and would highly recommend it. Marilyn and Colin "
"Lovely hotel, nice friendly staff. The room was beautiful. In stunning condition and fitted out to a high standard. I will definitely be staying again."
"We were in Room 4 on the top floor which was their largest one and had an ensuite bathroom. It was clean with a comfortable bed. We had a small issue with the shower temperature but after reaching out to the House Manager by text, it was repaired quickly while we were out. The only difficulty was parking (as in most areas of Brighton and Hove) but we were lucky to find a space not too far from the guest house. It would be perfect for someone who didn't need to drive - it was a short and convenient walk from Portslade train station."
