So it's very important to be sincere and honest during the review process. While you didn't take the time to verbalize what was wrong with your stay, I can see by the rating that you were not happy. This is very important to me. If you were to bring your concerns to me or the staff directly during your stay we would have had the opportunity to correct any deficiencies immediately and make your stay more pleasurable.Because of this, I looked into your stay to try to determine what was wrong.You know what I found? You did not show up for your reservation. You didn't even stay here.So, what exactly was wrong with your stay?

The bed was uncomfortable and very loud. Any time you would roll over or move it would squeak loudly enough to wake everybody up. Also, there was no hot water. Which is really rough when you come in from a day of skiing and then can’t take a warm shower.

The place is the exact opposite of modern . It is very old .Rooms are very small .No chairs or couch .People were VERY nice .

Hi Wayne - Thanks for staying with us and for the review. The Viking Lodge was originally built in 1948, making it the longest continually operated hotel in Grand County. We have completed many upgrades in all the rooms but we are limited to what we can do with size. I would like to point out that the dimensions of the room you stayed in are outlined on Expedia and include multiple images. We do this so that guests are not surprised when they check into their rooms.

Viking Lodge Perfect Stay
The Viking Lodge is a very nice local family owned lodge with a cozy home-like atmosphere. The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable. A sweet young lady, Holland, checked me in, and willing answer any questions about the area. The Lodge has several places to eat right across the street. I definitely recommend this lodge and will stay again if in the area.

Small economy room was spacious enough for 1-2 people. Kind staff, but best reachable by phone. Only minor detail was the motion-detecting fire alarm thing on the ceiling. Every time I would move in my bed, a dimmed light would go on. I almost set off a test alarm when I tried to turn it off, before I realized what this thing was.

We loved our brief stay. The Viking Lodge is a kind of antique--modest but charming. The location is fabulous--steps from two breweries and restaurants. Cordial and easy check-in and the price is right. Don't expect luxury, but you'll be comfortable and you can keep your car parked. We'll be back!

Nothing fancy, but all you need! Cozy lobby!
Cozy, little, old-school hotel! Loved it!! Tons of character! Tucked in among some trees, but right on Main Street in downtown Winter Park. Excellent location for accessing some fun night spots, right across the street. Wish I brought my own pillow!

Location was on the end of town closest to the resort, which made it quick and easy to drive back and forth. Room was small but comfortable for a single guest. Had trouble with coffee maker in the lobby one morning (breaker issue I believe). Just got coffee at nearby coffee shop other days.

Very cozy lodge, nice common area with fireplace, coffee, tea, and snacks. Very friendly staff. Check out time is 10:00am but we were allowed to stay later at no charge. Very convenient location close to restaurants, shopping, ski rentals and shuttles. Reasonable price. Recommend strongly.

Winterpark
Hotel is in the middle of town If you were staying with kids the bunk area upstairs would be ideal. The hotel is rustic and fun but if you are looking for a new modern hotel this is not the right place. We enjoyed it and had a great time

great price for a great room!
Awesome place to stay. Friendly service, cute and comfy room, and the entire place was comforting to end up at the end of our long day. Called in advance to request a later than usual check-in and they were very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again!
