This is a very nice and convenient location in Windsor, right across the pedestrian bridge from downtown and close to the Windsor and Eton Riverside Rail station. This is great news when you are dragging a suitcase.
There is very little motor traffic on the north side of the river. We did not have time to eat at the downstairs pub, but the welcome was great, and the rooms, while not large, were clean and well-lit. The large windows open and you can look out onto the bridge or the patio behind the pub. Note that this is an old building with stairs and low doorways. People were shorter back in the day, and I bumped my head entering the room.
My only complaint was that there was some plumbing work going on in our room so the wall behind the toilet had some temporary sheetrock. Everything functioned perfectly, and the bed was great. Lots of TV channels if that's your thing. Coffee maker and biscuits in the room, nice shower, quiet.
The hotel staff showed us how to enter and exit the building after hours through the patio and also referred us to a great restaurant (and they did not try to guilt us into eating in their pub). The bus stop to Heathrow Airport was about 1500 feet away (6 minutes' walk), right in front of the entrance to Windsor Castle.
I would definitely visit again, hopefully to have some of the pies sold downstairs in the pub.
