Disappointing stay at a beautiful property

This was a repeat stay. Beautiful property. This time staff quite unfriendly. Check in was minimally friendly. Servers were aggressive. Refused to accommodate our seating request despite empty tables with no reservation. Refused substitution for breakfast item I was allergic to. Did not even offer to ask chef if possible. Just an emphatic NO. On 2nd day meat was served cold. Had to be re done. No explanation or apology. Requested check out 1.00 pm instead of 11.00 am. Charged 15 pounds. Despite having a ‘superior’ room. Also noted no difference between Deluxe room stayed in previously and Superior room this time. Don’t bother. Rooms are dated and definitely not 4 star. Given other options in the vicinity, Unfortunately will not return.

The grandeur of this accommodation and the views across the lake were sensational.

An amazing place to stay. The view of the lake first thing in the morning through your bedroom window is to die for. Open the window and listen to the birds in the lovely garden. Sit and drink on the terrace while the sun goes down and then visit the restaurant. The food was a bit "posh" for my liking but very tasty. The fish and chips in the bar is the best I have had for a long time. Place is a bit worn around the edges but that just adds to the charm. The only thing I did not like about my stay was leaving.
