Nice and clean, bed very comfortable. Drinks a bit expensive and thought breakfast a bit dear at £12 per person. But room good value for money

Good location and check in staff were great. Good room with excellent bed. Basic breakfast was expensive (£12). Water pressure in the morning was at a absolute trickle (and cold) which was not good.

We loved property, rooms were lovely common areas very pleasant, couldnt use bin in bathroom, lid wouldnt work ,picked it up and plastic bottom fell off, nobody came in to empty bins or check bathroom, i know it was only 3 nights but even so, dissapointed no cooked breakfast . Would stay there again

Very respectful and compassionate team
I booked the hotel on behalf of my parents over the Christmas period. The staff could not have been more helpful.My folks asked to move room twice (new mattress was too firm in the first one and the shower ' didn't work' in the second). Turns out my folks were not quite understanding the way the controls on the shower worked but rather than explain (again) the manager moved them. He was keen that they were shown respect and not embarrassed by their lack of understanding, so never knew it was their fault. Well done team! And thank you!

Not a fan, noisy road, poor food choices
The window glazing is not suitable enough to block the sound from the very busy road outside. The bathroom light would not turn off so was on all night. The restaurant was ill prepared to cater for people with gluten allergies, I was told that the potato tots were gluten free but upon eating them it was apparent that they had been cooked in the same fryer as gluten containing items as I had a reaction to them which added to the uncomfortable nights sleep.

Economy at a price near Stonehenge.
Seemed like a good choice for visiting Stonehenge. However, without a car, it was a bit in the sticks. But it was an economical choice, even with the 13 pound charge from the train station. The other issue I had, and raised with the staff was, without any businesses around the hotel other than a gas station, there should have been some accommodation for purchasing sundries. Also, there was no other choice than ordering a full breakfast, as I asked to buy just tea and toast, which wasn't possible. This, added to the fact that there was no ability to make coffee or tea in our room. This was a real shortcoming by the hotel, and I told them so.

Room was clean but stifflinly hot and the windows only opened a couple of cms , it stayed hot all night. It is a cashless hotel. We ate and drank at a nearby pub as we prefer to support businesses that give customers the option of cash or card.

I liked the stones Hotel, I shall be booking again in the near future for a skydive down the road from the hotel. The price was reasonable for the night, price of breakfast the next day exceptable. I didnt like the eggs I know all chefs are different but its not how I would cook big batch of scrabbled eggs, glad im not lactose intolerable.

Just e-mailed the hotel to thank them for a brilliant stay, good atmosphere around the place and would still be there if i didnt have to come back home. Thought the bed was comfy and the shower was awesome really. Bar served my favourite beer so bonus all round. Definitely will stay again , sooner the better really.

The Stones is a great hotel which is very clean and tidy. The staff I think are great, and our check in on the 8th July was quick and simple. We booked for dinner and that’s where it went wrong for us. The starter of potato skins weren’t the best we’ve ever had and for £7.50, not value for money! The linguine my wife and I had was tasty, my wife’s cousin had the pizza, which was average and her husband the rib eye, again good. The young girls left to run the restaurant struggled with basic duties in our opinion, none their fault as my wife and I have about 70 plus years combined in hospitality, with myself having 20 years as an Area Manager for pubs and dining within that 70 years. We may know a bit! We believe that lack of training and any leadership whilst they were on duty, made our experience challenging and the team having to keep us as customers were also challenged! All the above said. We can’t praise Natalia, Jessica or Shaun, who despite being on there own. Did the best they could and will be great at the job if they get some proper training and support.

Used to stay here before being taken over, there was plenty of staff and a great atmosphere. Unfortunately- since the takeover there is very little staff, overall the place is fine, but not the same as it was.

The hotel is really but for the only problem seemed to be at where the room i stay was really hot with no air conditioning, i could there used to be air conditioning covered over with a bitbof wood.

Room 205, I could only get boiling hot water out the shower, the guy on reception said he had fixed it whilst I was out but then in the morning it was still the same. No remote for the TV I was offered one but would have had to bring it back to reception before 9am. The bin in the bathroom was still full of rubbish from previous guest. Don’t take this room if you aren’t tiny as you will struggle sitting on the toilet it has been squeezed into a tiny space not very comfortable and I’m not huge.

Oh dear. Much improvement needed
Hotel from ground floor was ok and quite modern looking. Rooms unfortunately were dated, incredibly hot (no air con), rock hard mattresses. Breakfast wasn’t much better with the coffee machine dishing out milk with a tiny dash of coffee making the most undrinksble coffee I’ve ever tasted. Luckily there’s a garage next door serving coffees.

The hotel has nice common areas and the staff were lovely and helpful. I wasn't super impressed with my room. Considering the price of the rooms, it was small and had cracks all over the walls and was in need of upgrade. You could hear everyone outside of the room and it was unbearably hot, even with both windows open. It was not a particularly warm night outside so I'm not sure how the heat was so intense in the room. The restaurant is not open on weekends or bank holidays so we were unable to dine in which was disappointing but there is a lovely pub down the road. I would recommend the hotel on deal but I think for the high price point it needs an upgrade.

Very over-priced! Small cramped twin room, cheap beds not particularly comfortable, TV but only 1 chair, so only 1 of us could sit comfortably! Mirror light in bathroom not working so basin in dark corner, could only open I window shutter as not enough room and scaffolding directly outside window so wasn't sure if there would be workmen there. No USB port in room which is normally provided nowadays. Meal was good, but again overpriced - £20 for burger! Outside, wooden decking dangerously slippy after rain. Overall, would have been happy if had paid half what it cost us. Standards need to be improved. Service at reception and in restaurant very good.

Terrible night's sleep. Staying for business got 3 hours sleep on a matress with springs coming through it and too small for an average person. Will not be staying here again. Asked to be moved twice but they said all the beds where the same. I ended up putting mattress on the floor to get three hours sleep. next day I had 8 hours of work and a 3.5 hour drive. nver again.

A happy alternative to staying in the City Centre.
This is an absolutely excellent hotel. It is nice that it is a little way out of Salisbury. Spacious rooms fresh crisp sheets, warm duvet. Marco Pierrre White restaurant on site. Attentive staff, efficient and professional reception . I will stay here again for either Salisbury or Winchester. Petrol station adjacent for purchasing necessities or fuel. Ample free parking. All modern amenities. I look forward to staying here again
