The Old Manor Hotel is a beautiful hotel in amazing surroundings. The staff were very helpful. I'm coming back for sure. The perfect place to get away from it all.

You won't find better service anywhere

Posted 07-Mar-2014 on Hotels
Room very pleasant, a bit olde-worlde. Some aspects where no expense had been spared (we counted no fewer than 20 power points in the room!); some where the cheese had distinctly been pared. The bedside lampshades didn't match. There were three different kinds of lightbulb in the ceiling, in particular one above the bed which was too small and left a nice view of the dust and debris in the ceiling. The paint on one of the bedside tables was flaking off. And the double glazing, in a rather nice old building, was a particularly horrible cheap white UPVC. No jet in the bath as promised, which didn't bother us; shower quickly ran cold, which did. Bed very comfortable but even with the heating thermostat turned right down I was far too warm. Dinner was excellent. Service was quick, efficient, unfailingly cheerful. Quality of the food could not be faulted. We ordered the house rose wine. They were out of it, so simply brought us the non-house rose, priced at £7 more, but charged to us at the same price. The restaurant is roomy, with the tables not jammed together. Breakfast slightly mixed - scrambled egg and smoked salmon excellent, the Full English nothing to write home about, particularly a rather sad piece of bacon. With a bit of attention to the tired bits, this place could be very good indeed, though nothing is going to redeem the double glazing. And you won't find better or more unfailingly cheerful service anywhere.

Lovely hotel

New owners were delightful, full of beans and eager to please. Food was lovely although served on a board...plates would be fine! Easy menu and lovely environment created in restaurant. Room was nice, had all you needed. Struggled with bathroom as cold tap ran hot and shower was attached to taps so couldn't stand and wash hair as you had to hold shower head. As a business traveller you do expect to be able to do simple things like wash your hair simply and quickly and this just made getting the temperature a mare and it would have taken too long. Very clean. The location was peaceful and pretty and very convenient to get to Bath.

Back in time

It was rather a quaint hotel and luckily for us we were in the oldest part of the Hotel. The room was typical of an oldie worldie building and the staff were lovely. We had a nicely cooked breakfast each morning and the price was quite reasonable.

Lovely 1 night stay

Myself and my wife stayed here for 1 night while visiting Bath. It is in a lovely area of England, 20minutes drive from Bath. The room was lovely and breakfast was good. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Would stay here again if we were back in this area.

Had to wait over 2hgrs for the room to be cleaned and the 1st contact with staff when we arrived was not informative. Hotel cleanliness was below standard and attention to detail required, the bed was uncomfortable and too short and the standard of the shower / bath was old and in need of refubrishment, overall disappointing standards for the nightly rate of £100.
