Lovely clean convenient accommodation. Lovely, lively pub with fabulous food and friendly staff and punters. Everyone made as feel at home and part of the family!! Will definitely stay again.

Overall ok, but be aware they do not offer breakfast (even though they sell "half board". Room was nice, I had a great view of the open countryside. Very clean and everything worked as expected. They do need to get a new harder mattress though as it felt it was showing its age. Perfect for a holiday/pleasure booking, but the lack of a desk to work from was not great. Food in the attached pub was good quality and tasty, no issues here. Note the place is very dog friendly, so if like me, you are a bit cautious of dogs, it is something to bear in mine. My real issue is that they are selling a package called "half board" however they tell me they do not do breakfast!! So I paid for and expected it, and it never arrived.

Ok but no breakfast included. Some web sites still say free breakfast included the pubs information booklet says breakfast is available from 09.00 but when I called the bar the guy said that they would not be doing breakfast at all due to staff shortages but they may be doing them again in the summer! All very confusing but at the end of the day its now room only

Clean, modern, noisy, no red wine!
The room was clean and modern with a comfy double bed and small en-suite shower room. The walls are paper thin though. We could hear the person on the phone in the next room and the person he was talking to. We were phoned on the day of arrival to tell us that the pub would be closed for our stay due to Covid. Not a problem, we re-booked for 2 days later. Could have been more of an issue for people travelling further or arranging a bigger birthday dinner etc. The pub is clean and pleasantly decorated. The gluten free menu was limited though inc no desserts (ice cream is not a dessert according to my missus 😂). The bar also had no red wine in stock... None! Waiters a little inexperienced and did not understand the difference between gin and gin liqueurs when i was offered a different option due to a gin being out of stock. I thought the management or bar man could have apologised for all the unavailable options (alcohol and food.) Ribs and fries were great, chicken breast overcooked. Good portion sizes and ok value for money. All in all, another business hit hard by Covid, but not to have red wine in a restaurant is in my opinion laughable at best.

Not what I expected
The bar area is lovely, no doubt about it. The rooms are located in a separate building around the back, and inside it felt like student halls of residence. I'm 30 years too old for that again. They don't do breakfast on weekdays. That came as a surprise. What the girl didn't tell me was that I could have ordered a packed breakfast right then. By the time I read this in the small print on the wall, it was too late. There's no hairdryer in the room. This was also a strange one. Again, in the small print on the wall, you have to ask for one. But you'd have to do that at the bar, when it is open, when you discover at 6am there isn't one, there's no-one to ask. Again, I could've done it the night I arrived. Instead, I had to go to work with wet hair. I ordered lasagne for my tea. It did taste lovely, but the centre of it was cold. That put me off. The room and bathroom were spotless. The room, however, had clearly had issues with the shower and a leak, as the skirting board had expanded, cracked, and was hanging off the wall. In all, it felt more like a hostel than anything, and that wasn't for me.

Convenient for spending w/end with friends
Clean and modern rooms in outbuilding attached to hotel. Contemporary style and pleasant enough for a one night stay. very small rooms. no wardrobe. only one chair. no dressing table or drawers so only able to hang few items on back of door. as I say it was fine being one person in a double room for one night as I could leave bags on floor other side of bed. Very convenient for friends I was spending the weekend with so would stay again. Had supper in pub restaurant which was pleasant enough.

Very good quality rooms,
Beautifully tasteful rooms and pub ! One of the nicest weve been in - the lady of the house has superb taste in furnishings. Breakfast ( Yes they Now do breakfast ) was super - Freshly cooked lovely Full English. The garden rooms are to die for- regards view and balcony /decking/ superb VIEWS !!!!. Small improvements could include - 1/ more teabags and milks in the room.2/ May have been just on our stay but someone banged doors rather loudly and quite often. Other wise a truly delightful stay . We'll be back!!!...Thank you .

Cozy, but disastrous if you have to wake up early
Recently stayed for one night. Beautiful place, cozy room, and friendly staff, but with major pitfalls: I woke up at 7am and there was no hot water in the shower in the morning (!!!), and no one to sort it because the pub was closed so there was no staff around, so I had to have a cold shower; no one there to actually check you out if you have to leave in the morning, I had to just leave and leave the keys in the room; very thin walls, I could perfectly hear the conversation next room; no option for breakfast, and closest alternative place was closed until 9:30am; the room had a kettle and mugs, but no tea or instant coffee. Basically: avoid if you have a tight or early schedule. Otherwise lovely place I am sure.

Shame no breakfast available.Small but comfortable room with pleasant outlook and peaceful as long as you don't mind an early wake up call from cockeral and chickens ! Probably better to have one of the rooms overlooking the valley. No blinds in the bathroom and window not very obscured so wouldn't like to shower with the light on.No where to hang clothes apart from bathroom.. Toilet seat wasn't secure either ! However in the main was a comfortable one night stay.

Although clean and new looking, the room was quite small. No room to store luggage, no hanging space for coats or scarves (had to leave them lying on the floor), bathroom was lacking shelf space for toiletries, very little space around the bed to move. Bed was a small double size which made it quite uncomfortable for two people to sleep in. The duvet was only just big enough to cover the bed, with two people in it you couldn't cover yourself properly. The room would probably suit one person only, not two. There are a number of self-closing doors in the entry to the guest room building and hallway which make a loud banging noise when they are closing - they need adjusting so that they close quietly. It appears that the guest rooms are in a new building attached to the original hotel. More thought should have been given to space allocation for the rooms.

Lovely little place
I stay here regularly, all rooms and areas have been refurbished (unlike pictures on here) and are all clean and nicely presented. I only spend 2 nights max here at a time so for me it’s fine but there are no wardrobes so for a longer stay not practical. My only real complaint is there are no toilet roll holders on the wall in any of the barhrooms. Dinner in the pub is great, however not open for breakfast. Staff are pretty much all very friendly and welcoming. It’s located on a little farm so if animals aren’t for you then I wouldn’t recommend otherwise perfect for short stays.

Stayed there for one night. Then got billed an extra £100 for leaving room messy( muddy footsteps). Got accused of stealing bed throw which my Autistic son packed by mistake. Despite me explaining that I would send it back straight away ( which I did) They still charged me extra £100 for "stolen" bed throw and "thrashing" the room.Very unpleasant lady who runs it just would not listen.In all my travels I have never experienced anything like this before. The inside communal door kept banging every time it was opened and kept me awake.

Overall the stay was most enjoyable couple of snags with the stay i booked a twin room only to find on arrival that the room was made up as a double the twin part consisted of a rather dodgy sofa bed that i endured for two nights (not at all comfy) then the 2nd night we arrived from dinner to find the annex was locked and we had no access, niether did the staff so a long wait was had waiting for the owners to turn up and let us in apart from this i cant fault the venue , the meals are superb and the rooms modern and super clean
