We only stayed for one night whilst walking the Wessex Ridgeway but it would have been nice to have stayed longer. We were given a spacious room with separate dressing area and large bathroom. There was a comfortable lounge with a kitchenette for guests' use. Everything was immaculately clean.
This was my third stay at Lucknam. When travelling from Vancouver to London I carry straight thru to Lucknam to relax, spa, dine, walk and get over my jet lag. This is an idyllic English country escape in all seasons. This year I was delighted to receive an upgrade and enjoy a wood burning fireplace ...
Very welcoming host. Room with comfortable beds, excellent shower, great towels, fresh milk for tea etc. And of course, a very tasty breakfast. Difficult to fault in any way - apart from poor mobile reception and intermittent wi-fi.
My mother and I stayed two nights in the Pear Tree, and it was a delight to come back from a day of touring to the fluffy down duvet and bathroom with towel warmer. We had one of the two rooms with a private parking area, which was a real plus for two women with joint problems and a tendency to buy ...
The owners were very helpful. Breakfast was a buffet left in your own kitchen, more than you could eat. Clean accommodation, comfy bed, and Wifi excellent.
We stayed one night in a twin room. I booked the wrong dates on Expedia but the manager was cool and sorted it out. Lovely room. Great dinner. You can talk to the chefs and they were super friendly. Lovely breakfast. It was a real example of what dedicated owners can achieve. Well done to everyone ...

Everywhere you look in Wiltshire there seems to be signs of grandeur. If the bar was set high with the county's earliest constructions (Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral), later additions did well to follow suit! From Stourhead House to the mansion at Longleat, there's plenty of opulence all over the county. Fortunately for visitors, the standard doesn't have to dip when you get back to your hotel at the end of the day.
Wiltshire is home to an impressive array of grand and luxurious hotels. Manor House Hotel, for example, is set within a gorgeous period building, with exceptional interior decoration to match. The Old House at Home offers similar grandeur in a more intimate setting.
The rolling hills of Wiltshire offer the perfect chance to achieve total relaxation. The wide range of rural hotels in Wiltshire means that visitors are spoiled for choice when going in search of an idyllic and tranquil setting for their time away.
Lucknam Park Hotel, near Chippenham, goes one step further. In addition to the charming and peaceful hotel grounds, the luxury hotel also boasts a fully-featured spa. The well-being centre offers hydrotherapy pools, salt water plunge pools, thermal cabins and a range of specialist one-on-one treatments. In other words, total relaxation is practically guaranteed.
Many visitors who head to Wiltshire's luxury hotels come to the county with their golf bags in tow. The spectacular countryside is home to some of the country's finest courses, some of which are actually attached to luxury hotels.
Bowood is among the county's most highly-respected courses, and is part of a magnificent hotel estate. The decadent period property is surrounded by gorgeous grounds and is packed with phenomenal facilities. The pretty gardens also make it an ideal venue for weddings and corporate events.
