Just a quick stop over arrived late left early so can't really go into much detail. Very efficient check in and check out. Room was clean and tidy with a comfy bed. Parking just round the corner in a multi story car park with 3 minute walk.

"Beautiful location. "
I stayed in the budget room (single at £42 b&b). Very basic (reflected in price), somewhat dated, but very clean and warm with shared bathroom. In hindsight think I should have stayed in one of the standard rooms (refurbished) with en suite for a more comfortable stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely breakfast in refectory. College opposite cathedral. Stunning, perfect location. I'd go back.

"Lovely hotel, close to Salisbury City Centre "
It was a lovely place to stay and very conveniently placed, close to the City Centre. The receptionists were all very helpful and very pleasant with it. Certainly gave a good impression and made us feel welcome. We didn't eat in the hotel because we wanted to go out. The hotel restaurant looked busy though and people looked happy. As previous reviewers have mentioned, the bedroom was very hot at night, even though we thought we'd turned the heating and the towel rail off. It didn't spoil our stay though and we would return.

"Magic and mystery"
We arrived early afternoon and were welcomed by reception who were very friendly. We left the car and wanderered down to the Quarryman pub in Box to watch England murder Scotland at the rugby before returning the to hotel. As we walked back and the light started to fail we found a hidden air shaft that must be above the Box railway tunnel. Very cool. On our return in moonlight we checked into our room in the treetops annex (away from the main hotel). The rooms are basic but value for money as the main hotel rooms have been individually designed by Marco and priced accordingly. I can understand why some people haven't rated them very highly but I think the price for them is value for money with the added benefit of being able to dine in the hotel which is WONDERFUL. While this is an ongoing development project for Marco and his team it doesn't feel that way and when we stayed all the lounges and dining area were finished and the dining experience is first class. The lounges are well worth exploring before or after dinner. The food was reasonably priced and top notch. The wine was great and the atmosphere perfect for a romantic evening. Breakfast was also wonderful and the service again first class. The staff help make this place special and the backdrop they have created and continue to develop makes it a unique place to stay for a weekend which is exactly what we wanted. I would highly recommend a walk around the grounds to see the animals and garden creations.

Pocket Guide: Conference Centre Hotels in Wiltshire

The stunning southern county of Wiltshire attracts plenty of visitors each year, many of whom come in search of its rolling hills, historical sites and exciting tourist attractions. Thanks to the county's location and its thriving economy, Wiltshire also serves as a popular spot for professional travellers and corporate events. To accommodate the influx of professional guests, the county is home to an impressive array of conference centre hotels.

    Ample Space

There are a number of things that industry events planners look for in a venue to host their event, but top of the list is usually ample space. In addition to having sufficient rooms for the number of delegates expected to attend, planners are typically on the lookout for roomy and flexible space in which to hold lectures, conferences or exhibitions.

Alexandra House in Swindon provides plenty of space for professional events. Across the 25 meeting and function rooms, the hotel finds room for up to 240 delegates at any one event. Many of the rooms are also equipped with state of the art AV technology to aid conferencing.

    Speedy WiFi

The list of technology that can help a conference run smoothly gets longer every time those clever innovators over in Silicon Valley turn on their ultrabooks! Undoubtedly the most important (and, perhaps, the only truly essential) technology is a reliable and fast WiFi connection.

Powerful WiFi can make events interactive, but they can also allow delegates to communicate quickly and effective with the outside world. Expect all business hotels in Wiltshire to provide a solid connection.

    A Convenient Location

Wiltshire is flanked by counties with lively business communities, from Hampshire to Somerset. This means that events planners often need to think carefully about booking a venue that can be easily accessed by everybody involved.

For public transport links, town centres are a popular choice. 20 At The Kings offers a handful of meeting rooms in the centre of Swindon, one of the county's most popular towns.

For road links, the M4 is certainly the key route in Wiltshire. The Hilton Swindon Hotel is ideally located, just a minute's drive from the M4, and all major routes in and out of the county.
