Dilton Court Farm B&B

"Country Stay close to Longleat, Frome and Bath"
We were warmly welcomed to this working farm by our hosts and really enjoyed our 6 night stay at Dilton Court. Everything was done to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We really appreciated being given use of the whole family suite, as having extra space to spread out and being able to set up one's belongings to create a dressing room in the room next door made such a difference - especially when you have been travelling for a while. Having a comfortable sitting room area with TV and WiFi and a spacious shower in the ensuite bathroom completed the picture and made the room feel like a home away from home. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and they were very particular in their catering for allergies and food intolerances at breakfast. Extra blankets were available if needed and the facilities were in good working order. What was a standout was the friendliness of the owners. They were ever so respectful of our privacy and yet warm and welcoming if we felt to have a chat - a perfect combination. We were welcome to explore the farm and a range of different sized wellingtons stand waiting by the door to use if it has been raining. Our window looked out over sheep grazing peacefully in the field. Dilton Court Farm was landscaped by the owner of the 'big house' so there were some beautiful mature trees on the farm as well as bluebells and fields of buttercups for us to enjoy when we went exploring. We'd definitely stay here if we were ever in the area again.

"Exhibiting at Wiltshire Game and Country Fair"
With my wife I needed accommodation close to Bowood House where we were exhibitors at an exhibition. The lady at Wayside B & B made us very welcome, and was prepared to rise early in order that we could be at the exhibition site well before the public were admitted. The breakfast was excellent, and the room warm and comfortable, with access to a large lounge.

"Ok but a bit expensive"
I wasn't aware that I was about to stay at a real college, not being used to it. I was quite confused when I arrived. The room was quite confortable, but with just a sink. Common bathroom and toilets. I found it a bit expensive for what it is : £44 for a single room.

"welcoming and comfortable"
We stayed for 1 night at The Old House at Home and it was fantastic. The staff where very welcoming as soon as we arrived and got us checked in straight away. The rooms are pretty new of good size and very comfortable a fantastic base to explore the gorgeous part of the world. On a busy Saturday night in the pub they managed to squeeze us in for a table for dinner and the food was delicious. The portions where very good and would satisfy anybody who had been out all day, nice beer on tap also. The following morning we enjoyed a well cooked English breakfast. You can tell the ingredients are all sourced locally. A great place to stay, eat, drink or all 3, we will be back.

Pocket Guide: Bed and Breakfast Hotels in Wiltshire

Wiltshire is becoming an increasingly popular holiday destination among travellers in the UK. Situated in a particularly beautiful corner of the country, the county boasts vast areas of lush, green countryside to complement its wealth of fascinating historical attractions. With so many holidaymakers heading to Wiltshire each year, it's hardly surprising that the county is also home to some excellent guesthouses and hotels. Those seeking a particularly memorable holiday experience can check in to one of the county's many fabulous bed and breakfasts.

    An Intimate Setting

Most people who take a holiday do so in order to unwind and relax. Often, this means going in search of some peace and quiet. There's no doubt that the glorious Wiltshire countryside can offer plenty of tranquillity, but to complete the package it makes sense to book into some quiet accommodation.

While some hotels can be noisy - packed with lots of guests, all keen to have an incredible time - bed and breakfasts typically offer a more intimate setting. With fewer people around to distract you, you can focus on complete and utter relaxation during your time away.

    Top-Class Service

Whether it's a perfectly made cup of tea in the morning or some essential local knowledge from the owners to help you plan your itinerary, excellent service can really make a holiday. As the staff to guest ratio is typically better in bed and breakfasts than in hotels, guests can usually expect a high quality of service.

    Tailored Advice

There's a great deal to see and do in Wiltshire, from the prehistoric sites of Stonehenge and Avebury to the modern shopping centres of Swindon town centre. While this can be seen as a blessing, it can also make it difficult to plan.

Bed and breakfasts allow guests to speak with the local staff members and to share their inside knowledge on the best things to see, and the best times at which to visit. Is Stonehenge particularly busy at sunset? Are the best local sales at Easter or Christmas? The friendly staff members at guesthouses and hotels in Wiltshire can give you access to local information and insights.
