"Nice hotel a little bit outside Swindon"
The hotel is located about 25 mins from the town centre. A car or a taxi might be useful for your transportation to/from Alexandra House. Overall cleaniness of the room and bathroom was excellent. Room could be more modern, but it meets its purpose. I didn't use any facilities apart from the restaurant which is worth a visit. I had fresh fish for main and a wonderful pistachio slice for dessert. The restaurant was well manned hence the staff was always there to serve a lot of people at the same time.

"Close to nice walks by the Thames"
Only stayed for one night before going to badminton horse trials, badminton was extremely overpriced and traffic in and out was a shambles, so will be watching it on the TV next year. The stay at the Red Lion was a much more enjoyable experience and the food in the restaurant was as good as we have had anywhere ( we have eaten in some very up market and overpriced restaurants). If we are staying in the area again, we wouldn't bother to look anywhere else. Excellent value and I haven't even mentioned the wonderful breakfast. 😀

"Nice B&B but small room"
Nice B&B on the outskirts of Swindon town, good location (though spoilt by roadworks closing the direct route to town) Room was very clean but small (Not complaining as the rate for the single room was very good). Breakfast was excellent and plenty of it (too much for me) and given the option to get a breakfast baguette if too rushed to sit in breakfast room. All in All very good value for money

"Excellent country hotel - poor bar food."
Had a great weekend at the Beechfield House - beautiful building and interiors, (mostly) superb staff and the room was great with excellent views of the countryside. The grounds are lovely and good to wander around and the outdoor pool is superb. Breakfast was great. The only bad parts were the poor choice at the bar (no cocktails and the beers were all boring big brand, nothing local) and the bar food, which was truly terrible. My haddock was thin, tasteless and bone dry and the "triple cooked chips" were limp - not worth c£14 I was charged. My partner's cheese burger was equally poor. Better to go to the "Sign of the Angel" in near-by Lacock, which was superb.

"Fantastic cared for country hotel"
2 day stay for a local family wedding in devizes. Lovely walks through the related priory and farm. Facilities are great and it is obvious that the owners and staff share a passion for the place. Only complaint is the humming from an extractor / fan / heat pump in the kitchen below - but it is at least consistent and a mark on the quality of the hotel that we only noticed it initially. Beautiful village too.

"One night at Widbrook Grange"
We stayed at Widbrook Grange as we were planning on spending the day in Bath. Upon our arrival, we were guided to our room and given a brief tour of the b & b. There was a pool and gym, which we unfortunately did not have time to try. Parking was free and we found delicious freshly baked cookies.in our room. I requested a room for a family of four and we got exactly that. The beds were very comfortable. The room came with a tablet which described the area and information on restaurants/things to do, which was very helpful. We had supper at the Dockside restaurant, which was a brief 5 minute walk away, also owned by the b and b. For breakfast, we had a choice of a variety of hot meals, and everything that was prepared for us was delicious and the portions were generous. It would have been nice to stay a few more days as the setting is in the countryside and very relaxing. Bath was a short 10 min drive away.

"Fantastic stay with excellent facilities"
The Village Hotel is fantastic. There's easy self-service check-in, very comfortable beds, clean rooms and bathrooms (although the shower could be better), perfect large and warm swimming pool, modern gym, onsite Starbucks, pub/restaurant, and Italian restaurant. What's not to like...
