Nice hotel. Good location

Good location to beach <10 minute drive. Good location to university <10 minute drive. Clean & comfortable hotel. Staff excellent. Had everything ready when I arrived. Took <2 minutes to check in.

Location: Battleship North Carolina, Bellamy Mansion and Downtown, Beaches; Wrightsville, Carolina, Kure, Topsail
A great hotel... because of the staff. The property itself is lacking the polish it needs to be a greater hotel. The staff could easily work a 5-star hotel. I am extremely happy with the motivated, driven, and personable staff. The hotel is however close to a lot of attractions. Downtown, the Battleship, Beaches, etc. are just 15-45 minutes away.

Bed Bugs

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel. Our 2nd night, getting ready for bed, we realized we had bed bugs. We immediately checked out, the staff was very understanding in regards to the problem and was apologetic. Ruined our weekend getaway, especially having to check out at 11 pm and make the hour+ drive home back to Jacksonville and have to sanitize everything that we had brought with us including our vehicle that we had drove in.

Disappointing.

Pros: Comfort and staff.
Our first room did not have a separate bed or a pull-out couch for our kids. We went back down and the hotel staff was very helpful in giving us a different room. Our second room had everything we were looking for, except there were shoes and a bag in the room. Fortunately, the person was not in the room! Finally, room #3 was good to go. We wanted a pool for the kids and to do some laundry, as this was the middle of a road trip. The pool was closed for renovations and the hotel was out of laundry detergent and couldn't provide change in quarters. Fortunately, there was a hotel next door that accommodated us.

Staff was nice...very disappointed that the indoor pool was out of order...would have been nice to know that in advance so I could have gone to a different hotel so my grandson could have went swimming.

Not a high end Holiday Inn

Was a decent hotel and no issues but I expected alittle more out of a Holiday Inn. In a bad area also
