I don't like their idea of nonsmoking
I reserved a non smoking room. I had to sign a waiver saying they could charge me $150 if I smoked in the room. Presumably that fee is for additional costs of cleaning out the smell of smoke. I arrived exhausted about 1230 at night. When I got to my room it had obviously been smoked in and it was colder than cold. I couldn't figure out how to turn on the wall unit heater under the window. But I was too tired to argue and went to bed. The next morning I said something to front desk clerk about the smell and temperature.. She came to my room and told me it smelled like smoke. She also commented that it was cold. She determined it was cold because the window had been left open to air out the smoke. Well, that certainly wasn't effective use of the $150 smoking fine. She also determined that I was supposed to realize that there was a thermostat at a separate location from the heating unit controls. They didn't offer any comp for the problems. I was very disappointed.
