the only probem is that the heating system doesn t start befor 16.30 so you have to be cold for the rest of the time.

The staff very friendly and obliging. Dinner very good. Sadly, the interior, even the two best rooms, really need a refresh. Furniture and decor in common areas need replacing.

It has a great view over the water and having a bar open at night was very nice. The breakfast was great

Weekend Break
We arrived late due to the ferry being delayed but the excellent staff were both welcoming and accommodating in rustling up something to eat after the kitchen had closed. Great location, friendly staff and a good, clean comfortable room.

Great Staff!
Staff were great - offered good advice for local places to visit. Allowed us to get in for breakfast a little early so we could catch our ferry back.

Beautiful views across the Solent, and very pleasant to be seated outside on the veranda at night. Very professional staff, and exceptionally courteous. The food from the kitchen at dinner was top class, so much so I, sent my congratulations to the duty chef, via the restaurant waiter. My wife agrees with me, that our visit, was an all round, very pleasant experience. And we will come again next year.

Disappointed
The room was very small at the back of the hotel facing a wall. There was only one receptionist who was on the phone dealing with a future booking when we arrived so we had to wait for a considerable amount of time. There was a ceiling fan which was helpful. There was shampoo but no conditioner which was disappointing. No iron in the room either. Not really up to the standard we were expecting - we will not stay there again.

Actually quite frustrated with Expedia who have billed me double what I was expecting. Was expecting a single night in a 3 star hotel to cost me no more than £70 and to my shock, I was billed £180 for a single night in the hotel. I have no idea how the price jumped from £70 to £180 but I have no doubt Expedia are up to dirty tricks to extract more money from people. Very very expensive for a single night in a three star hotel and it was supposed to be my birthday.

Returning after many years
Stayed here 40 years ago and so glad to see it again. There has been some changes but the location can’t be beat. Beautiful views! Walking distance to many things. Very helpful staff.

Outstanding hotel
Went down for a wedding, and booked in for 4 nights. One of the best hotels I've stayed in full stop. Very comfortable and clean, fantastic staff, great food. Would highly recommend.

Great stay in the hotel - totally dog friendly
Great hotel - in the most wonderful location, with stunning views directly over the solent. Could not be more accomodating of our 2 dogs... including a small welcome bag of treats for them, labelled with their names. Really very lovely!

Superb hotel
Everything about this hotel was excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean, the food was delicious and our dog was made to feel very welcome. Can’t fault it.
