Oakes Hotel Overlooking the Falls

"There was an issue at the hotel and our reservation was bounced to another hotel. I was unhappy about it at first, due to traveling alone with my child and not having much notice. I didn't have time to map the route ahead, figure out parking issues, etc. However, the Staff were helpful, made it easy, and as soon as they knew there was a problem they fixed, making sure that I had a place to sleep (a lovely, safe, clean hotel) instead. Though I'm sad we didn't get to stay at this classic, historic Oakes hotel, my son and I had a great time in Niagara."

"I was amazed to find the exquisite cleanliness of this motel. It's a big place, lots of rooms, and so reasonably priced i just didn't expect extra dust-free, spotless, new looking everything. Check all your secret.places-no dust! Outdoor pool--pristine! Clean as a wine glass! Cute little breakfast area, sweet desk guy with more hair than a lion's mane. Towels are horrible, but that's the only thing that is."

"Nicely maintained, convenient property. My only complaint is that they do not have telephones in the rooms! I travelled to Canada to communicate by phone with some Canadian government departments that do not accept phone calls from outside Canada or phone calls from non-Canadian cell phone numbers. As nice as this property was, this one issue totally defeated the point of my trip. I would not have reserved here if I had known about this and the listing on VRBO did not say anything about lack of telephones. It just never occurred to me that a hotel would not have phones for their guests to use. I'll know to ask this going forward... but what an expensive, inconvenient lesson!"

"Very nice place. We stayed there for a couple days and very were happy about our stay. Nice host, just expect them to be around the backyard area a lot. But overall gave us a lot of privacy, very nice, very clean and it has everything you need to have a good stay."
