Dated but overall nice

Hotel is dated but I think that adds to the charm. Woman at front desk was awesome! I would definitely stay again.

Pros: Beautiful historic hotel
Cons: Replace the stoppers and the chair.
Location: Convenient to Oglebay.
We had a good stay. The location was good, and the room was clean. The only issues were there were no stoppers in the sink or the tub-making it easy to lose something down the sink and impossible to take a bath, and the chair was incredibly uncomfortable.

Worst hotel we have stayed in

Posted 13-Dec-2017
When checking in, he didn't have noted that we have 2 dogs. When I told him we had our dogs w us, he changed our rm and told me there was a 20.00 fee each dog. I pd him $40 cash. We were not informed of a pet fee when making the reservation. Our rm was dirty, blood splatters on wall, drapery not hung w enough pins, couch was dirty, broken lamp shades, etc. I had already prepaid for the rm, so we stayed. For a hotel that is pet friendly, there wasn't a place to curb dogs.

They did not change our sheets in the room after they said housekeeping is still going around. We had to ask for more towels. When we got there there wasn’t enough towels. And no backup toilet paper. The rolls were almost gone when we arrived.

Nice historic hotel & surroundings.

Our rooms are quaint & sufficient. An “old feel” in a busy world. Even though there’s o hot food, their limited continental breakfast is with many choices & there’s a 7/11 less than a block away for things not offered! All I can say that made my stay uncomfortable, is it was HOT!! When you stay in an old building you expect cold! lol Beds are soft & comfortable!! Nice views!

it is an outdated hotel, forced air makes rooms extremely dry
