Of all the hotels, I stayed at while I was in Ireland, this was heads and shoulders above the rest. If I could give it a 7, I would. Christina and Gerald were spectacular. In fact, I felt like I was staying with long lost friends. They were friendly and helpful, even offering to drive me to Castlebar one morning to help me obtain my grandfather’s birth certificate. Located off the road, it was totally quiet.
The layout of their house was spectacular for having a B&B. They had a nice ‘lounge’ area for sitting, chatting, and having a cup of tea. Christina’s breakfast was lovely. The room was spacious, the view being excellent, and met all my needs.
It’s about a 10-minute walk to the center of town. Once you learn the ropes, it’s quite easy and takes you through down a beautiful walking path.
