We did an online reservation, but we waited more than 30 min for the owner to come and give us the key for the room. The room it was clean, but it's a smell of old building.

Surprise 'Luxury' Budget Accommodation in George
Outeniqua is a very pleasant budget accommodation option. We decided to go to George last minute as part of our trip to South Africa so our options were limited by the time we went to book something. We would normally have booked B&B at the least, so this was a little different for us. However, Trip Advisor came in very handy for excellent breakfast options in George. We were very happy with Outeniqua overall, it was well above the level you would expect for a 'budget' option. The house itself is very comfortable and pleasant, our bedroom was a good size and the beds were comfy, but the one thing that let it down was our bathroom. There was no window in the en suite and the fan wasn't strong enough, so the bathroom permanently smelled damp. After 3 showers the door had to be left open, which meant the room then smelled too. Also, there was only one chair in our room which is fine as we had an extra bed for our daughter, but the seat was broken, so we couldn't sit on it! A bonus for our 9 year old was a small pool in the garden. There was shaded parking for all guests' cars - bonus in the height of summer. There is a large fridge that guests can use for their own food, wine etc, and there was complimentary tea and coffee available 24/7. As I say, overall we were very happy with our find, and if we were stuck again we'd have no hesitation returning to Outeniqua. It's just a pity the bathroom wasn't in better condition as it let the whole experience down a bit.

Clean, cheap and convenient room
Nice And clean Room (the bed was super comfortable!!) for less than 700 r it was good enough value but kind of like staying in someone's house. but perfect if you are passing by and just need a bed and shower. Close to resturants.

George Outaniqua Questhouse - Lovely Accommodation

Superb Accomodation. Top class!
From the moment I arrived (early), the hostess/proprietor offered a level of service that was without fault. I stayed only a single night, and had booked at a double occupancy rate, yet I was only charged a single rate. The Outeniqua Travel Lodge felt like a welcoming home. The lodge is secure with gated and covered parking, the common areas are homely and warm. The cat curled up on the rug and the friendly Jack Russell politely going about it's day created an ambiance and atmosphere more like a family home. I was fully independent with code and key entry. Sue was unimposing yet focused in her guests. I have and will recommend this lodge to everyone I know.

Nice simple guesthouse
Was a simple and clean guesthouse. One if the few with internet access. A bir criwded feel to it especially if full. Staff nice and helpful. No frills, but perfect for a reasonably priced night over during your trip.

Only stay here if you are really on a tight budge
We were greeted through a locked door with "Who are you?" in a gruff voice. Once we explained that we had a confirmed reservation we were allowed to enter and briefly shown around and then to our room. Our room was dirty (especially the bathroom which smelled of urine and had a leaking shower), small and VERY basic. I knew this was a cheaper option, but still thought it was overpriced once I saw what we were getting. The location is alright, although right on the main road, so bring earplugs! No fan and no ac. It was a hot and unpleasant night, but at least we only had booked one night! Not worth the savings!

Felt like home.. great host, rooms and tour!
We loved the rooms, they felt like home and were very clean. The best thing about the lodge is the host, Dawie, his pets (my wife felt in love with them) and the tour. From 8:30 to 17:00 he took us on his car for great tour around Oudtshoon, including the Cango Caves, Cango Wildlife Ranch and an Ostrich Farm. We had a lot of fun, it was one of our best days in South Africa, and probably spent less than US$150 for 2 people (including the tour, entrances and the lodge). A value MUST on the Garden Route.

Hoteleigene Katzen in denHotelzimmern üblich?
