Although it was a very late booking and we appreciated being accommodated, no towels in room for adults and no pillow cases. Also booked for 2 adults and 1 child and then all had to squeeze into a double bed. I don’t understand that a booking would be granted online and then not accommodate our requirements? The grandfather clock chimed every hour on the hour which was annoying. The breakfast was great and the overall hotel amenities.

Thank you for the feedback. As discussed, we did inform Expedia that they should not allow late bookings for same day arrivals, and also not allow any extra beds for children/adults in our Standard rooms, these rooms are preferably only suitable for one person, or short stay guests. It’s a small – cosy room and might be too confined for 2 guests. This is our budget option for our Corporate guests looking to book a quality bed to sleep in. (this is the exact description of the rooms online). Whoever made the booking should have seen this. Wrt the towels, there was 2 sets available, the pillow cases, we sincerely apologise, human error, not thinking we will have to rent out the room last minute the evening you booked. The clock is not in the house, its opposite the street, Its the Church bell, which some people love and others not so much, we do provide ear plugs in the rooms for the ones that prefer not to hear them. We've discussed all your concerns with housekeeping and the duty manager, we will make sure to check the rooms again before we go home in the evenings.
