Not good on info and very little help.
The hotel restaurant was closed as they had a pre-booked party.
I was in Halifax for a work trip and stayed here while a colleague stayed at a different hotel which was about the same price. We had completely opposite experiences in terms of comfort and quality, and should either of us go to Halifax again, the wool merchant hotel is on top of the list of places to stay.
Not as pictured or described. Warped and dirty bathroom, lights not all working, shower leaked, water temperature was either freezing or scalding, no tea bags, dirty kettle.. etc etc
Good night sleep and breakfast was nice. Toilet blocked late at night so used the reception toilet over night. Room could be nice with a little painting and a real good clean
Hotel looked tired & dated. Could do with a deep clean!

The room looked nothing like the pictures on ebookers website the bathroom was last tiled in the 70s and was used for cheap groupon stays, the door had to be slammed to shut properly, breakfast was excellent and staff very polite
Arrived at reception!! Couldn’t get hold of anyone for 30 mins!! Not the start we wanted as we just wanted to drop case off in room then head out!!
Then after much searching I found a member of staff outside having a cigarette break!!
Decor modern and appeared to have been recently done. Budget priced hotel with free parking. Pleasant staff who helped me when I locked the key in the room. Only downside was that the hair dryer was attached to the wall and there was no mirror within reach. Breakfast was very nice and the service in the breakfast room was excellent
Disgusting . The bed didn’t even have a mattress cover and was stained. The walls were filthy, no hand soap in the bathroom.
I would not recommend this hotel.
Overall good stay. Car park is a bit tight, managed to park there the first night, had to stay in the car park across the road on the second. Clean and tidy bedroom, no issues.
Cheap stay with breakfast and free parking.
The bed needed a new mattress in my opinion

Hi John
Thank you for the review of the wool merchant hotel
I am glad that you found our accommodation was reasonable priced and I look forward to your future visits.
Kind Regards
Simon
A little tired but for price very very good value and rooms were so nice and warm. Will definitely use again. Only spoke to staff on phone due to Covid but they were very courteous and helpful.
The room was spacious the service excellent. The room was cold as one radiator was not working, but a portable heater was supplied. Dinner was brought to the room and was delicious.
A great view of Halifax Minster as a bonus.
I would highly recommend it.
Massive bathtub, more like a submarine with really powerful jets in it to give a hot tub experience. Big room, well furnished with a sofa added. Very good.
Hotel nice and handy for town centre. Good free parking. Quiet warm bedroom (twin en suite). Good value for money.
Room a bit cramped - couldn't get passed stool at dressing table unless it was moved. Water pressure in shower very low. Staff at breakfast provided cups by holding rim with fingers inside the cup. Struggled for ages to access the "very fast" wifi and eventually had to give up. Managed easily at next restaurant we visited. Cooked breakfast disappointing.
Staff very friendly and pleasant .. reasonable bar prices ..
Rooms on 4th floor could do with a lick of paint to freshen them up and some decent beds really hard ....
not enough teabsgs and milk in room no one about to ask for more ...
problem solved just go shop and buy small milk and teabags ..
eouldnt bother me but up very early with beds been hard only because i have arthritis in hips ..so we drank more tea coffee ..
doesnt stop us staying here every year ..
not far from all shops and bars and cheaper than ben in dead centre .
lovely little hotel not far from train station
I paid £30 for a last minute stay so cannot complain about anything. Parking is free, staff extremely helpful & polite. The building & decor are a little tired but bed was comfortable, sheets pristine, shower spotless. Great value & good location with five minute walk to town centre.
