Such potential

Posted 11-Jul-2016
Great access to airport and city. Plenty of parking. Loads of buses to Leeds if you want them. Located in nice grounds. Poor hotel desperate for refurb. Room on 2nd floor was lovely. Plainly had had a face lift. But communal space everywhere very very gloomy and tatty. Good pool/leisure facilities. Had breakfast and that was good. Plenty of choice and healthy options. Hated self check in. Felt like I was arriving myself at the doctor's. The one and only staff person on the desk was abrupt, no customer service skills at all towards me or others I witnessed. This hotel has so much potential but it needs a few quid spending on it which understand is planned for August. But don't let me put you off too much. It served me well as an overnight prior to airport. Headingley just down the road with selection of usual eateries p/express, nandos etc. I would recommend it for location, location and parking!

Our TV was very difficult to just watch bbc1, ITV

Our hotel window looked directly onto a wall. The coffee/ tea maker was difficult to use. A kettle is enough.

Attractive hotel in nice surroundings

Posted 13-Jun-2016
Pros: Good breakfast. Nice Sunday lunch. Lots of places to sit and have a drink inside and outside. Easy parking.
Cons: There was no reception staff to check you in and out. In the room only 3 channels on the tv, not even sky news.
Location: A long way out of headingley if you were walking. No shops or pubs nearby.
Was disappointed with the room, which was an upgrade. Did not have any of the extra features that were promised. Only had 1 pillow each but did receive another 1 when we asked. Bathroom was grubby with mould on the tiles. Extractor fan did not work. Enjoyed the breakfasts and hotel bar.

Run by a bunch of kids. Hidden charges

Posted 12-Apr-2016 on Hotels
checked in by Jake. He was abrupt and unfriendly whilst clearly trying to act camp in front of my boyfriend at the same time. It got worse, the receptionist couldnt speak good English and practically caused us grief with her misunderstanding which led to Jake ringing us in the room to warn us he would check with the manager if we were still welcome! Actualy we had rung reception horrified the bed hadnt been made. In the end Edward the (very very young but to be fair extremely professional) manager intervened an sorted the whole mess out. great hotel but lots of extra charges they wanted a tenner to use the pool. sorry for grammar here rubbish software slowing me down.

Good clean room, mediocre shower

Posted 09-Apr-2016 on Hotels
Pros: Clean, friendly and courteous staff. Good facilities seen though not used by myself (gym, pool, Starbucks). Room had ample space and lighting. Cons: some rooms are really far from reception (E.G. 282). Shower was luke warm with little power. When you book, and when you check in, there is no indication if breakfast is included or not. An offer to add on is not made either. I would stay here again, just not in the "extension" part of the hotel.
